According to Waboba this video shows the first sales test generation waboba ball. That ball was much more similar to stress balls than the waboba balls actually sold world wide. Compare bouncing a waboba and a stress ball and you will find that the waboba bounces a lot better both on ground and in water. That huge difference in bouncing makes waboba a lot more fun to play with than a stress ball. Besides the waboba didnt sink like the stress ball did after some usage.

Stress ball - the gel type is made of TPU, Thermoplastic Polyurethane. It is the same type of material that the waboba is made of, waboba has a lycra cover to hold it in place to prevent deforming and splitting under hard impact. In conclusion - there is pretty much no difference! That is why they need a world wide patent, its already out there but for a different purpose, its nothing new or special. But its amazing to see it bounce so high on water ! :-)
