Wern't all Z-class oil-fired unlike the UP challangers, and are their any surviving today? I know SP 4449's current whistle is from a GN Z-class challanger.

Yes, all operations including sounds are controlled via the DCS remote control system.

Those are various air pumps and compressors. Some railroads hid them in various places while some railroads mounted them up front.

what radius track is this running on??? The overhang doesnt look as bad on this model as it does on some of the other mth challengers.

It's running on my outer loop which is O-72 (36" radius), the minimum that this locomotive requires.
