When cats live outside, and haven't been neutered, this is their natural way. They'd probably be at it again in a few minutes if you had stopped them this time. If these are domestic cats though, someone could be up for a vet's bill in a minute. Just luck no cars were going by when they ran off! :-o

You CLEARLY do not get the concept that it's in all animals nature to defend their territory, humans haven't even grown out of fighting for territory, for example, war, to something as silly as a guy fighting another guy over a woman, its not unheard of and i think you should think before you type. Or atleast understand. Ignorance may be bliss but it also shouldn't be tolerated.
Yup...some local cats have evolved into 'gangster' cats...more muscle...squarish faces...and they are not afraid to look at humans in the eye. And they growl with a deep throated meow instead of the usual one we hear in the past. Scary.
you mean these cats are more like their ancestors.... or regular street cats... who actualy chase mice and eat birds and sleep on trees not eat fake food and get casturated and get vaccines...
Ummm..cats fight. Cats are not human...they are doing WHAT CATS DO.
Fight, maintain their territory, kill mice and sleep a lot.
