@bigga360 You make a good point. It does make it easier to turn sharp corners, it would only make sense to back out of a tight spot it would help turn easier.
Even so, just look very carefully at the geometry -or trigonometry for that matter-, of the task at hand here; the turn wheelbase from the front to drive wheels does not facilitate the required turn radius to back a straight shot. Now here's the thumper, the tag axle on these new schools are set to automatically relieve the air pressure off the tag when put in reverse; I think it can be manually lifted on up off the ground -not sure about though.
@MysticMTL and bigga360, just because the tag wheel is rolling doesn't mean that the axle is loaded. The X45's can release the pressure, and then also actually lift the tag on up (if ground level clearance is not too skewed) off the ground...
@MysticMTL and bigga360, Of course I meant the X3-45 and not X45. These buses have a longer wheel base than the MCI's (16.5in more), but they supposedly compensate by having a tighter or smaller turning radius (1.38m shorter).
There is a brand new indoor terminal that was built a few years ago, right next door, but they just use it to store buses now, because the owner of the building ran out of money before finishing construction and they were supposed to tear the old terminal down and finish the rest of the new building, but it never panned out. The new terminal section is complete, but they ran out of money to build an entrance and tunnel from the subway station into the new terminal, so they won't use it.
@MysticMTL Yea, I know. I work for Greyhound in Binghamton, NY. We deal with Montreal stuff a lot. Our new terminal is set to open in June. Should be nice when it is done.
Yeah, he had some help though. But parking is tight at this terminal, and it will be even worse once they start using the inside terminal, whenever they finish it.
The new buses are very handsome coaches to look at but they are horribly uncomfortable. The seats are pitched so they compress the spine, there are no footrests or handles- horrible. I ride them to Atlantic City and it's misery!!
Don't gloat now. I miss those heaps a lot. Did you see the gorgeous, loaded new British Greyhounds in England with WiFi and extra leg room and plug-ins? America has fallen so much in the way of bus travel. It's sickening. All I have left are my childhood memories.
It's great to have older reliable buses in service, but the fact is that they're not funding North American bus travel near enough, and it shows when there are hundreds of people waiting for a bus that never shows up because there are no buses available!
LOL, I have lots of videos I still haven't uploaded yet. I'm just sorting them out now. Lots more Jeumont trains, more buses, and lots of bus departures, but they're too short to upload each time, so maybe I'll make a compilation of 10 or so at 30 seconds each.
haha, the name just makes it even funnier. XD

The new buses are nice, but they are uncomfortable as hell. This terminal does suck to by the way.
We are getting a brand new terminal where I work for Greyhound.

The US is sending all of your older buses up north to Canada. So we have all of the 1992-1995 MC9's. They look pretty old, but they run solid!
