Actually if you read the book, its really an indictment of the yuppie culture of the 80's that basically created an environment where each one of them was interchangeable with one another. There were not really any individuals to be found. Make sure you listen when Patrick describes the music, because it tells exactly how he feels his life/job/friends. And yes, he did kill all of those people.

Personally i think he did murder quite a few ppl, including Paul Allen (Owen), even though his lawyer says he had lunch with him in London, i think he confuses someone else for Paul just like everyone confuses everyone else. He is definitely psychotic, and did hallucinate SOME of the murders, but not all.

I love this book/ movie. Look up the Patrick Bateman emails. Set about 15 years after this story.
