We use one like this to quarter the bigger logs. We then load the quartered logs onto our splitter. The New Revelation Log Splitter (youtube)

we have one of these for sale at work and its about 5-6 ft long. to me i think a regular trailer splitter is easier but its up to the user.

It may be because i cant see scale but it seems to me a hand model would be quicker then backing up anddriving forward. Pretty damn cool design though.
