My old Spanish teacher, Doug Emeldi, played the keyboards for Creedence before they made their first album. At what time period exactly, not sure. He figured they weren't going anywhere so he became a teacher, as the story goes. He didn't talk about it.
It's interesting that both of these tunes are very piano dominated. There isn't a whole lot of keyboard playing on CCR records, the organ on "Have You Seen The Rain?" being a noted exception.
are you fucking stupid or something?? seriously. i got john on the phone right now and he denies any allgations you have said to him and yes there rare pieces still out there i dont know who the fuck you think you are. but he is signed under the universaL MUSIC GROUP. he hasnt did anything with fantasy since the 80's when chronicle was released your asking for a law suit due to false allegations so you need to watch what you say.
if you know John so well, just say that I'm Robert from Belgium, and he'll tell you who I am. We really met several times already, I'm not sure about you.
Heh....funny. John did re-sign with Fantasy, it was kind of a huge deal in the news when he signed because it brought all of his recordings under one roof again. There was even a cd issued ("The Long Road Home") with the best of his CCR and solo recordings together for the first time in one place! For the record, Universal merely distributed the albums, but Fantasy IS the label. Go to his website and look up the Revival page and read what record label his own webiste says it's on. End of story.
Yep, it was a long journey from these songs to "Proud Mary". It was a trip hearing the Golliwogs singles on the box set. IMHO the CCR sound we all know and love was in place by the time John & Co. cut the single "Tell Me" in 1967. All that was missing was John's Bayou-By-Way-Of-El-Cerrito,CA breakthrough of "Proud Mary".
I have a nice story to ad, the record you hear is actually my vinyl record. I sent it to Fantasy Records to put it on this box set, they didn't have it anymore. They're still searching for the third Blue Velvets single
"yes you did/now you're not mine", impossible to find !!
well ive talked to john fogerty he owns all of the blue velvet records even a 1959 1 of 1 acetate thats rare. i even heard it i will posting some of that material but since fantasy records dicked him he has these records stashed in his vaults. but i willget his permission and see if he lets me post it im sure me and him will work something out

There's a lot of Keyboards in later CCR - all of Pendulum,
Grapevine, Lookin' for reason, It came out of the sky, Night time is the right time, and many other songs from Willie and Cosmo's.

Stu Cook played keyboards before he transferred over to bass guitar.

I read somewhere that after the Blue Velvets, Stu Cook converted from piano to bass. So that was likely him on piano!

OK, correcting myself here. I googled it and it was John Fogerty playing piano on Blue Velvets and Goliwog stuff.
