There was an MD-12 but it was never built. There were also several other versions of the MD-11 (a stretch and an LR version) that were never built. Boeing took over MD and shut down the MD-11 plant, even though Fedex and LH both still wanted to buy more. There is an excellent website with lots of facts: md-eleven(dot)net. Have a look there.

I use a yoke, a throttle and peddals. Just like in the real aeroplane :-)

It is KMEM. It is payware and by a company called blueprint simulations. It is alright. Nothing special. I bet there are frewware sceneries out there that are better :-)

Fed-ex actually uses MD-10's. They are retrofitted DC-10's. They do look like MD-11's though. Not making it up.

@artistgmg Yes they use MD-10s, but they are also the worlds largest MD-11 operator. The two are easy to confuse for the untrained eye, but once you know them you can clearly see the differneces. By the wa would you know by when the MD-10 will be gone? They are currently being replaced by the 777F

@homer30 you can get programs that let you add as many angles as you like. Active camera and DSB walk and follow are two.

thank you for your great MD-11 FS videos...

But I wonder how do you manage the correct fuel burn schedule? I've red that there is no fuel planning or routing tool like, for example, the one of the Leonardo Maddog MD-82. This would be a lack for me. The only suitable planning tool seems to be F.O.C. which is unfortuneately very expensive. However, maybe I'll buy this great piece of aircraft...

@studog229 it is not possible to post links on youtube. The scenery is by DreamTeam and is JFK. Simply google it. It is payware but well worth the money

Yes REX is great in FS9. I also used Flight1's FE before and replaced it now.

Great video! One question though - does it require as much power as the PMDG 747? I'm not gonna buy this if I can't get it to run at a decent speed...

No not at all. I get about double the fps that I got with the 747, sometimes more. On FSX I even get similar fps as with default aircraft. I am not sure how they managed to do this as it is a very very complex aircraft.

I haven't flown the PMDG 744 since this has come out. It is 10times better...in my opnion :-)
