  • The Silver Star plays his double neck

  • Why do you chop it up?

  • sdr

  • Is Page the coolest looking MFer in those shades & that silk outfit or WHAT??? For this band to do the drugs & alcohol they did, play as incredibly as they did, and still LOOK GOOD doing it....those were some MEN.

  • He is glowing

  • John Paul Jones is a genius....that Alembic is all over the place....

  • holy FUCK! they sound fucking amazing, FUCK!....LED ZEPPELIN ARE THE FUCKING GREATEST!!

  • @LZProjects and mielazul: As a lifelong Led Zeppelin fan and collector of every Zeppelin thing I can find (especially live recordings) I have often wondered the same thing about JP being behind some of these things that get "leaked." It just seems very odd that Empress Valley, Tarantura, and other labels seem to have at least a few brand new soundboard recordings of Led Zeppelin to offer. They're mostly from 1975 and 1977, but I would love to see more 1971-1972 era sounboards - those are killer.

  • the best fucking band ever!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the great post!! John Paul jones was really stepping out there! Bad ass playing from him as usual!!

  • @MrJohntube12 ...agreed! That bass playing is brutal at times!!

  • I was at this concert. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!

  • hell yea greensboro coliseum!

  • The description says "Special thanks to "J.P." for the film." Was this given by Jimmy?

  • @LZProjects Interesting you bring that up. I've always wondered about these ongoing bootleg releases. I've always wondered if Jimmy was behind some of it. I know he had some precious archives stolen in the '80s - at least that's the story. But with Rob always vetoing various releases (and I love Rob, but let's face it, he can be an obstacle for these things) I've always wondered if Jimmy, who's so proud of the legacy, uses these back channels. Anyway, check my channel for good raw blues

  • @mielazul

you just might be on to something .... certainly sound's plausible.

  • THAT"S MY HOME STATE!!!!!!! :D MAN I wish I hadn't been born in the 90s!

  • Quie recuerdo, grande led-zeppelin

  • Lominac, you are right it was bonzo's b'day and he did about a 20 min. solo. They where pulling people out. We ended up front row

  • Still have my whole ticket, the gates where rushed and no one was taking tickets. We ended up on the front row. This was Greensboros last festival seating. What a great show. If anyone has pictures or a video I would pay for them.

  • @carguy1961 I was there too! Jumped from balcony to floor - still have t shirt & ticket!

  • look folks Zeps the best and you lucky fucks that were there fair fuckin play. Just seeing these guys awesome you know that.

  • WHAT A TRIP!!! I WAS THERE!!! They were like 2 hours late getting there, and Jimmy P could barely stand, he was so wasted. Wish the camera had panned to the right, I was standing a few rows back on the right side of the stage,... about 1 minute into this song, a roadie crawled over the top of everyone to get to me (I had snuck in a cassette recorder and he spotted it) by the time he got to me, I had popped the cassette out and put a blank one in the recorder, I still have the tape!!

  • @wkeasler That was cool. See if you can have it digitized and upload it.

  • @wkeasler That's fascinating. How far into the show did you get, as far as recording goes? And how was the quality? Have you transferred it to digital (you should!!!!)? I've always loved the 1977 tour - it seems like the detractors just DON'T GET IT!!! Tell us more about your experience if you can. Thanks...

  • my dad was at this show... my god. here is the wizard himself, complete with the danelectro, dragon suit, and godzilla-walk to go along with his monster riffs! huge thanks to whoever dug this up! i finally get to see and hear part of this epic show that i've made my dad tell me about thousands of times!

  • @tangerine1490 That's a Gibson EDS-1275, not a Danelectro '59 DC. He only used the DC on "In My Time of Dying", "Kashmir", and "White Summer/ Black Mountainside."

  • does anyone know of an audio bootleg of this show? I was there and would love to hear it one more time 30+yrs later. thanks

  • @thetemp11 If you find one please email me, this was my first concert

  • ROSETTA WEST

  • Was there myself along with a now sadly departed friend.

  • 34 years ago today. I was there. It cost nine whole dollars which was an outrage then. Epic beyond words.

  • @mnick0962 me too!

  • so many people in the comments say they were there. no fair!!!! :(

  • I was there. Can't remember a lot of it...must have medicated...But I Was There !

  • wow, I was there, I shot about 60 still photos...in B&W...bad idea...Bonzo's B-Day !!

  • was there

  • Listen to Bonham

  • EPIC! Dig how Page comes out with cig and shades...ROCK GOD!!

  • As I recall the show started about 45 min late because Jimmy & Bonzo were celebrating and couldnt be found. I still have my room key from the Coliseum HoJo this show was amazing

  • @8jaxn right, the show started at 9:30 and ran until 1am...they said some bullshit about having to fly back to NYC to find Page & Bonzo...sounds like someone's smack delivery was late...a person who had a better view than me said that Page puked during White Summer, I didn't see it, he swears by it...

  • @mineheadX1 I was on the front row. Page did not puke. He DID rinse his mouth out with Jack Daniels and spit it out on stage.

  • @clontarf1002 you all, who were at ZEP concert, are lucky. I was born in 1978. I love Led Zeppelin. I have a dream, but I haven't any chance...

  • @clontarf1002 That's a classic and very funny clarification. Anyway, this show seems pretty rippin' - it's cool that you were there. The Greensboro '75 show has a bad reputation - maybe they were trying extra hard to make up for it. Then again, I've heard recordings of that show, and it actually sounds pretty good in parts, especially given their sick/injured condition. There are always people who will try to tear down the legends, but people like you, who were there, know the truth.

  • THE BASS IS SO LOUD!!! Awesome!

  • jimmy and those sunglasses... :)

  • The best TSRST on the net .... I wish there was more from this show ... Jimmy, Bonzo and Jonsey were burning ...

  • I was there...and a good time was had by all!

  • I was there...and a good time was had by all!

  • Wow, Bonzo's 29th B-Day!! I bet there was some partying after this show. Haha

  • @capmkrob 28th

  • And speaking of critics, I checked out "How Many More Times" from Greensboro '75, which according to that asshole Luis Rey was their "worst ever" show. Can't speak for the rest of the concert, but HMMT sounded wicked - Page was great, and Plant was really trying hard with his flu-stricken throat. I'll say it again - yes, there were some bad shows occasionally...BUT MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND. Don't believe the people who are trying to create an easy "Rise and Fall" narrative.

  • I hitch-hiked to this show with a friend when I was 16 years old from Winston-Salem. Unbelievable. I still remember them pulling up people from the front of the stage before the show because they were getting crushed. I also remember Robert Plant yelling out it was Bonzo's birthday! and turning up a bottle. Good times.

  • i always heard they were not in perfect form live in 77 but this one prooved us all wrong.

  • @troutmask1970 Fuck the people who dis this tour. 77 was MOST HIGH. And if people can't understand that some lows come with the highs, they should just stick with the digitized, lip-synched bullshit that corporations are dishing out everywhere now. There was something so majestic about Led Zep when they were on in '77. A lot of people just want to put 77 into the "Fall" segment of their convenient Rise and Fall narrative. IT WASN'T THAT SIMPLE. They could be more magic than ever in 77.

  • Jonesy using a different bass guitar ?

  • Well, I came.

  • They did a concert in Greensboro?! I didn't know great rock stars came near North Carolina (I live there)! Oh good greif... why couldn't I have been alive yet?

  • @TheAerochick13 Hahaha, I know right? I live in NC too....and I'm so upset I can't go to the Robert Plant conecert Feb. 7th,,,,but yeah Rockstars do actually come, you just gotta find them.

  • @iAMmissMegan I went to the Robert Plant show in Charlotte at Ovens Auditorium on February 7th and he and the Band of Joy put on a great show....I could not believe that this concert was not a complete sellout.....People of Charlotte, this is the legendary Robert "Fking " Plant !!!!! I got to sit 13 rows from the stage and it was a magical night.

  • @Karenfan09 Oh my God, you're super lucky!!! You live near Charlotte? Awesome!!! I'm glad Robert put on a great show for my fellow North Carolinians. Maybe next time......

  • @iAMmissMegan Yes, I live in Charlotte.....My only regret was not taking my HD pocket video recorder to capture some of the concert.

  • I walked from Gibraltar to Shanghai just to see this show. Nad I was barely 5 yrs old

  • happy birth day jimmy page thanks for being you any way you rock

  • People say that 77 was the worse year for Led Zeppelin, but this sounds damn good, sounds exactly like the studio version.

  • Led Zeppelin is the best; the father of all modern metal.

  • Page at his sexiest.

  • 1977 is my favorite Zeppelin tour. There's no point in arguing with the detractors. They either hear it or they don't. To me, Zeppelin always sounded so MAJESTIC on this tour...even on their worst nights. The tone, the set-list, the insane pagan atmosphere...incredible. Talk to people who were there and most of them feel like it was branded on their brain forever. In my opinion, Zeppelin was one of the few bands for whom things could never get "Too Big." And 1977 was as big as it gets.

  • @mielazul Being just a bit too young to have seen Zeppelin live, I can't accurately judge, however they sure sounded better to my ear in 1969 or so...could be nothing more than my strong preference for the tone of the Fender Telecaster as opposed to the Gibsons page used later in his career.

  • @alexdroogie100 Well, your not alone in your opinion that's for sure. And there's so much to love about the early days, apart from guitar tone preferences - you can hear how totally hungry and aggressive they were in making an impact, and Page was just amazingly fluid, as opposed to the kind of ragged style of the later tours. I probably like that ragged style more than most, but my main point was how much I love that imperial majestic vibe of the later tours, especially 77.

  • @mielazul I agree.Like the BBC show live in London,' 71.Very fluid with "You Shook Me",for instance. This one,Jimmy improvises his runs.Notice how punchy John Paul's Alembic 8 string bass is here..Wow!

  • @ESmithStringSlinger Yeah. I think I read somewhere - maybe in an interview with JPJ - that Jimmy had some concerns when Jones got the 8-string for the '77 tour. I think he was afraid it would totally dominate the group sound (probably similar to his concerns about Bonzo's interest in a double bass drum). It worked out just fine though - "punchy" is a great word, and it actually complimented Jimmy's playing very well.

  • i waited in line for 3 days to get tickets for this tour when they played the Myriad in Oklahoma city and the warmest it got was 21 fricken degrees but it was worth it because it was a great show.

  • amazing

  • Where is the audio from?

  • @LuvJoAnnaG

    From Zeppelin my friend.

  • This is what it's all about....

  • I was there. They showed up late because bonzo got lost in the subway in ny. It was his birthday and when they showed up they played for 3 hrs. Awesome concert paid $9.00 for my ticket , a fortune for a concert ticket in those days.

  • I was there!! was a great concert..my brother and I made the trip to G'boro and its a show I'll never forget. Festival seating, stage rotated out and they kept telling us to back up. I remember some people in the upper deck stringing belts together and lowering themselves to the lower level..firecrackers going off. entering the arena was dangerous.. a wall of people..if you fell down you weren't getting back up easily. Zep was tight .Kashmir was a highlight , so was acoustic set, ah the 70's!

  • @TheCarolinaRover1 my brother cousin and i also went to this concert, i was 15 it was my first concert, my cousin was the most excited, he started getting mad, because of the long one hour wait, we had stolen alot of weed from some guy next to us, so we were pretty blown by the time led zep came on, so its all a blur.

  • Great show. Three hours of Thunder from the Gods. I must have been really close to the cameraman. This looks like my view of the stage.

  • This is without a doubt the finest sounding recording from the 77 tour, which generally gets panned in the sweep of history because most if not all of the bootlegs of that era are horrible sounding. Jones and Bonham are ferocious in this bit, and Page holds up much better here with some proper sound clarity. Someone got hold of the soundboard and synched it up with the home video. Three minutes of some of Led Zeppelin at the height of their sonic glory.

  • is the sound from the concert?

  • Why don’t you money hungry sob’s pull all the Zeppelin snippets? They did the same thing to the promoters, 90% for Zeppelin and 10% for the promoters….

  • Just goes to show that not all '77 performances are bad like so many think. Plant's voice was quite strong here compared to much of '75 and later in this tour.

  • i was there baby! yeah, my first rock concert ever! :D

  • @jesuswonthelottery you have a great account name XD

  • @jesuswonthelottery Lucky bastard!!!!

  • i never seen page wear sunglasses ever...EPIC

  • Best music EVER

  • I was there, front row, general seating. I remember Page wearing the shades when they came out and opened with this. Great show. Sang Happy Birthday to Bonzo with nearly 20,000 other freaks.

  • The long intro into this song puts a chill on the ol' spinola... Was originally intended by Page to be an instrumental piece, then Plant coughed up some lyrics for it...and walla

  • i would kill some one if jimmy told me to

  • I especially love John Paul Jone's bass playing on this, awesome!

  • Great stuff, thx very much.

  • @cnthmndz jimmy page is against the music video games. He doesnt like the idea of someone like john bonham having his songs played easily instead of properly learning and taking time with it.

  • @cnthmndz --Well just to say it...music wise, for a game, Led Zeppelin would be way better and harded all around on all instruments. Yes the Beatles are great and revolutionary, but so are Led Zeppelin, if not more so. And if Led Zeppelin would say no to a game, they are the ones that will have to suffer denying the world what it deserves and it all comes back in the end.. SHARE your music and let this generation have a new start with your MUSIC!!! Reply if you want this!!!!!

  • If you THINK and agree that Led Zeppelin should have there own Rock Band Video Game, PLEASE leave a similar Comment and lets try to make this happen!!!!!!!!!

Much love and thanks for your MUSIC. (I also want a Pink Floyd video game)

  • Great bass sound -- almost sounds like a Musicman, maybe an Alembic? But probably a J-bass. JPJ gettin' in some funk slap/pop there, and it sounds like he's been listening a bit to Geddy Lee. He was such a sponge -- what a great musician, and one of the funkiest rock basses ever. Just totally locked in with Bonham.

  • Rock music wouldn't be the same without them... timeless songs! they were ahead of their time..

  • @TheNightmareofHell i bet you fucking have a poster of slipknot in your room and when nobody's looking you pull down your pants and start stroking your cock to those faget ass clowns.

  • @TheNightmareofHell dude slipknot fucking suck each of their members dick. the band sucks, they all have 6 sums with each other

  • zep rules ;)

  • Led Zeppelin is awesome. I wish I was 1/3 as cool.

  • @TheNightmareofHell hahaha nigga go lick a monkeys balls then come to my hood so we can knock tha slipknot outta ya

  • @TheNightmareofHell LOL WUT?

  • It's so great to hear JPJ's bass up in the mix, something the original '76 release of the Song Remains the Same live album/soundtrack sorely lacked. Ahhh, thanks for the memories, Zep. Not crazy about the edit-jumps... we fans really DO wanna hear the whole song!

  • @TheNightmareofHell LoL, I'm sorry for you, you live in complete darkness and ignorance.

  • @TheNightmareofHell yeah whatever kid go squeeze your zits

  • Was @ this concert also. Jimmy page had broken his finger. He still rocked on!

  • I should say something meaningful like "sarsaparilla"!!

  • If Bonzo was still alive today (which cause Led Zeppelin existance), pretty sure that the present popular music would have been much different

  • @DobrePytanie , I'd like to think so, but there was terrible music back then (Disco, Kiss, Glam, Michael Jackson, etc., etc.)!

  • I was there in Greensboro 1977! Thanks for the memories!

  • wow, jimmy page on double neck fire.

  • can't stop listening to Jones at the beginning of the vid

  • ESTE VIDEO ME AGUSTADO MUCHO! ESTA CHIDO LED ZEPPELIN TE ADORO!!!!

  • GREETINGS FROM PSUEDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's a treasure,it's a jewel;very good bass sound:Led Zep for ever

  • I finally got it! This audio is from Capitol Center, Landover, Maryland U.S.A ,May 26, 1977. The bootleg is called " Bringing The House Down ". It's the one where they played Dancing Days and when Bonzo came in early on Achilles Last Stand. Amazing Bootleg!

  • there are no bootlegs of this show. good thing mighty page, plant, and jones found this and released this HERE!

  • The four people who disliked this can go jump off a cliff

  • Excellent footage! And nice job dubbing from a suitable show. Very enjoyable.

  • Fucking Legendary!!!

  • I was there. The audio us probably from another 1977 show. Seattle maybe. A board tape der sher. There is reported a tape of this show but it has never surfaced. Amazing show.

  • I saw them play that year.

    Happy birthday Bonzo.

When I hear the thunder, I'll think of you.

  • 33 years ago today...still so new. Greatest/Best Band Ever! Happy birthday Bonzo!

  • Happy Birthday B-Boy Bonham!

  • The audio sounds like it would be from 1975. I know it's from 1977, but just sayin, it's thats good!

  • Forever Young

  • q xevereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee LED ZEPPELIN ES LA MEJOR BANDA DE ROCK ¡¡¡¡¡¡ EL Q NO ACEPTA Q ES BUENA PUED IR A FOOLLAR CN UN ORNITORRINCO Y UN AGAY CN SIDA ¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I was there!! wow..............

  • The Page Master !

  • After all the years, the Song does remain the Same, even better! Long Live Zep!

  • I can't stop listening. They' re just too good.

  • Jim is my favourite guitarist... as Slash

  • Not the best band ever..

    That's .......RUSH

  • Page shreds the whole song on the 12 string.... FANTASTIC

  • Lead can't rust...

    Same goes for Led...

  • Another gem. Jones's bass sound is fucking massive.

  • bonzo's 29th birthday may 31st !! nice footage and thanks for sharing!

  • I was recently in the bathroom just now debating whether or not I would literally kill to get Led Zeppelin tickets. I told myself that it was a stupid ultimatum and that killing would make me a bad person, so I brushed away the thought and left it at that. If Led Zeppelin ever has a reunion concert stay off Ticketmaster....

    kidding.

    ;)

  • Nice.

  • SHOW US THE PRO SHOT CONCERTS!!!

  • Is there a second, overdubbed guitar at some parts???Just asking don't attack me.. :) Great parformance anyway!!!

  • @porock21gr Overdubbed?!? YOU MUST DIE!!! ;-)

No, just kidding. I don't think so--I'm pretty sure Page is using a twelve-stringed electric, which makes the sound much heavier. I could be wrong, but that's my answer. BTW, this is awesome. They all sound great--JPJ and Bonzo especially! Thanks for posting, dear LZ channel managers--keep 'em comin'!

  • @RockNRollRanter Haha..ok kill me!! :P

It could also be because of the bass guitar..If you listen to the video again, you might agree!!Thanks a lot for your reply!! :)

  • @porock21gr Actually that was the base lol!

  • @rocklover4 yes, listening again to the video I realised that it's the bass, which is higher in volume than usually! In an other comment someone also says that it's an *-string bass!!Probably that's why it sound like that!!

  • Led...will never die!!!

  • @rommelink you will
