@mynameisroberta This unit dose not... You will want the Dice unit for Text... with the Dice you are unable to control it from the iPod... that is why i went with the Xcarlink.

Just get a sick deck installed that's i-pod ready. Take out that factory deck. Then you can control you're entire I pod through your deck and never touch your i pod. Plus since I've installed my deck the sound system is about 3 times better than factory.! booya!

It would be a bit hard in a mazda3 though...it has that huge integrated dash radio...

I've "unlocked" the iPhone once and doing so drastically lowered my battery life (had to charge it twice a day even though I wasn't using any functions). Hard reset locked it up again and battery life went back to normal. I heard this is a common problem with some units, but haven't found a work around it yet myself.

I purchased one and installed it myself with the help of your video.

My iPod Nano works perfectly, but once I plug in my iPhone 3G there is a message on the iPhone stating "this accessory is not compatible with the iPhone" and there is a loud background hissing sound when the iPhone is plugged it. It still plays songs on the iPhone, but the hissing is always in the background. Have you experienced this?

Yes. The 3's that are older than '08 do not have AUX ports.
