  • Found the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) accident report .

The engine stopped running because one wing tank ran out of fuel and the pilot did not switch to the other wing tank which had 30 gallons of fuel in it. This could have been a lot worse considering how many people were present on the field. The NTSB blames the pilot for poor fuel management and improper preflight inspection of the aircraft.

  • Other than dum pilot, and crash, maybe emergency landing, and the will to avoid slow moving American people on the field? U don't hav enuf info to conclude that the pilot is dum.

  • Did anyone get the real story as to why this happened? Engine failure could have been the culprit. Minimum fuel status is not always at fault in crashes. I don't recall seeing the prop spinning at all....fuel starvation or engine failure....???

  • Pilots need to switch tanks during the flight, say about half an hour on the left, then to the right etc to maintain balance. this one didn't, and 'ran out'...sorta.

    what a waste..

  • or he could of had kept coss feed on because its a single pison engine

  • ke fuerte ..
