Reebok is the exclusive maker of NFL jerseys. As such they run the show when it comes to the jerseys. In the case of Chad Johnson, they'd already created several hundred thousand C.Johnson jerseys for this season. So what Chad is asking them to do is just throw away all the money they spent in creating those jerseys and go and create a new jersey for him now. It's his fault for waiting so long to change his name. He did it a week before the season started.

If you remember there was a lot of hesitation from the league about letting coaches wear suits because they have that contract with Reebok and Reebok wants to have their name and logo plastered over everything.
