That machine was totally giving away free Coke. I must say, though, that if these ever make it in public, somebody is going to have a lot of spraying and wiping to do. They'll be filthy in moments!
Well its just a demo, of course it's going to be free. When they hits the public it's going to be like a dollar or something. I like the new bottles though! Amazing!
I love technoledgy but I love old music like jimi Hendrix and the beatles and Jefferson airplane and stuff from the 60s like that so when our planet is destroyed by aliens and not Muslims lol and we are all liveing on mars I'll will still have up to date tecnoledgy but I will still listen to music from the 60s
this planet wont be destroyed my muslims. it will be destroyed by all humans, regardless of religion. hey majority of Muslims are peaceful. Only those like al-qeda are assholes and yeah they deserve to die
It seems that Coke did not solve the biggest problem in the fountain soda business - SWEETENER. Diet Coke in a machine or at a restaurant is not Diet Coke - so call it TAB. It contains Saccharin, or a mixture of Saccarin and NutraSweet. In the video I saw no button that said DIet - so sweetener is premixed in the syrup?.
Since NutraSweet's patent protection has expired, is Coke now saving what 1/4 cent per cup? Shame on you!
Yes it's technology! I grew up during the 1960's and 70's where our vending machines were the type where you put in your quarter (yes, just a quarter) opened a door and pulled out a bottle of cold refreshing soda (Coke, Fanta, 7-Up, Pepsi, whatever) used the vending machines bottle opener, left the cap in the receptacle and then either took the bottel with you or placed the empty in the rack by the vending machine. The biggest reason it costs a buck for a pop is because of this new technology!
Whoop! S[elled "bottle" wrong at one point there. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the new technology but really look at what we have today compared to 10,20 or 30 years ago and look at the extra cost as a result of that. No wonder we have to have jobs that pay $10 an hour or we can't survive.
@bigkellyr I'm a child of the 80's, and I remember those vending machines too! I miss them as well as the old glass bottles. I'm not sure why anyone would want to scrutinize their Coke before buying it, i.e., I think the touch screen is unnecessary--people buy drinks out of vending machines without looking at labels or packaging now, so it's not a problem that needs a fix.
this is not a dumb idea. they arent going to replace every vending machine on the market. i have already seen them in a few malls near me and they are really neat. they are fun and you can see all the nutritional stuff before you get it. they are real easy to use and its kinda fun to use too. no different then hitting a button on a normal machine. and the advertisements will also help other companys as well as Coca-Cola.
This is what people would call, stupid technology, whats wrong with the older vending machines, are they on strike too ? C'mon, a touchscreen vending machine, right, its so freakishly hard to push a button. Are people that lazy in America, I know the people are just this blob of macaroni and cheese, but this, this is just stupid. Touchscreen are spensive too, 30.000 for a vending machine, oh yeah, they're going to sell like poo on a shelf. Give me a break.
I would say its not stupid its smart.... Its going with todays technology.... And yes.... its true people in america are lazy.... but there is no difference between touching a screen and touching a button... And as dapack said... You will probably only find these in malls and high class places.... not in a city park or down some greyhound bus station in your city.
Japan invents things like 10 years before it even hits the united states.... Hell they had camera phones years before it hit the u.s.... im sure they already have flying cars invented
u lose more money than you will make. Whats the point? Besides really fragile. Theifs would love this only to take the screen out for a TV or soemthing. So its the worse thing to buy. Unless ur so fking rich it doesnt cost 1 cent to you and you just got it for commodity.
Because many people are moving to the southwest. many of them are from Chicago, cali, the entire fuckin' northeast. the money and jobs are in the south. deal with it. any other douche things to say, cheese?
This is a bit silly because it makes things needlessly complicated for maintenance. Also more parts can brake or be broken. I guess they like the idea of a Rube Goldberg machine. :)
I can care less if it's useless, it's cool and something new

The budget that went into designing this could've helped feed millions of dying people I'm sure. Another pointless invention.
