  • Some artists are so talented, that they transcend personal taste.

Jane Siberry will be here for a long, long time.

  • brilliant. a completely rewarding journey through the intent of this song, and a most satisfactory glimpse into the complex humanity of jane. many, many thanks. a million thanks!

  • Does anyone have an mp3 file of this ? I worn my copy of "The Walking" album ages ago, and I really miss listening to this song - and it's my favourite Jane Siberry song ! Please please please !

  • @Cicilo1983 you can get something called "Free Studio" which allows you to just paste the url for the video above, and it converts it after downloading the audio, into an mp3 file.

I would have, for 10 years, dragged myself over a field of broken glass to watch this woman. Then I met her. In 30 seconds, I realized that I had had a decade long lapse in reason. It doesn't mean that her music isn't good. It means that I realized suddenly how she really viewed folks who like her music.

  • @GuitarGare, what do you mean by that ? I've read some very positive comments about people who have met her in person... Oh, and thanks for the "Free studio" program, I'll check that out.

  • @Cicilo1983

Maybe I just grew up from the encounter. I’m now not really a fan of anyone, anymore.

Believe me, I've loved this woman more than I can put into words in a musical sense, & I even broke my own rules about trying to talk to any artist after a show to try and communicate with her. There’s not enough room to explain this.

We, as consumers, are nothing more than cattle that are corralled by most artists with any gravitas. con't...

However, living in a world of your own creation where people's adoration takes on mass to the point where everything you say becomes an 'inside' to the select few-then the belief in your own press becomes three dimensional & you start to pick and choose who are allowed to like you, then subscription to “your club” is useless, and nothing more than selling the cult of personality. This is also why I'm no longer a recording artist. I guess I'm indebted to her in a way.

  • moving!

  • Perfect beauty, from her ageless face to her timeless eyes, and her profoundly simple poetry, sung, which means more than I know...

And so it means so much.

    So much.

  • Her finest moment!!

  • Yeah, this is one of my favorite JS songs. Odd video...

  • WOW!

  • pure genius

  • The chorus and Jane's dialog is so simple, sometimes funny, but fantastic emotion to me. When the black/white picture turns into color on Jane's face and we can see only her eyes, is so dramatic. The structure of the movie with the music is perfect!

  • one of my favourites! thank for this! also from my favourite album from Jane! The Walking! Love it! DEEP. DEEP. DEEP. one of my desert island records. you are an inspiration! peace. liketreeswalking (you can check out my own music on YouTube, solo piano... jane is in there somewhere :-)

  • this is really powerful and emotional. her eyes and music look right into me. it's so good to see and hear a friend.

  • Wow! Awesome rane38! This is one of my all time favorite Jane songs. The writing and voice are brilliant. When was this shot? I requested this song last year at a concert and she looked at me like I was crazy...I just thought that maybe she didn't wish to perform older songs anymore.

  • Jane, you are my hero - beautiful through and through.

  • I've often imagined a video for this song over the years, it wasn't quite like this, but not a million miles off either

  • is it hard to sing that slow?

  • it could be... but it definitely takes a lot of breath and vocal support in order to sing a slow tempo properly.... believe, me, i'm still working on it as a singer! -:) D

  • Jane is a Gift from Toronto! Love this Video! I would love to see more of her videos!

  • Jane follows her own unique muse, and this video is no exception. Oddly beautiful and haunting, just like her music.

  • Hey thanks Zubby! And it was all improvised before a show! But I actually think that it turned out so well is that she was secretly controlling my camera moves telepathically. I wouldn't be surprised, her mind and her senses are so powerfull and sensitive! Or we had a great connection and I know the song really well, she chose it coincidentally? Or did she sense it was a very important song for me? I was surprised. Anyway, glad you enjoyed, Tootie Concerto full lenght coming soon! Éric.

  • OK, now I'm REALLY impressed! I had no idea you shot this yourself. And improvised-that's really something. It just works so well with that wonderful song. Now I'm going to have to go watch all of the Jane Siberyy stuff you've posted.
