@Nonchalants8 I've seen a nice flash powder made from potassium permanganate, aluminum, and sulfur, though I don't remember the ratio. In my experience unless you use that ration it can be less powerful then perchlorate.
I couldn't help but notice at the end of the video the wind was blowing HEAVILY off the left of the screen and you appeared to be adding the liquid material from that same side. Should you perhaps not be taking advantage of the winds to stay safe? Remember: SAFETY FIRST! ;)
btw the lung problem isgoing away sens iv ben away from my chemicals : ) im into physics now and lasers are fun to : ) . just to ask is it normal to have a something in your throught that make a cracking noise when u breath not big cracking but like conjestion i do have alergieys so that might be what it is i have seen a doctor but they cant figur out what it is. they say its fine just take some medican so your guyses opinion
@hkparker i have. he sed it should be just alergys cause i have got tested even though it came out negitive they sed they will test me on other things like cats dogs dust mites ect.
@hkparker and my lugnd have ben getting a lot better to ever sens we dusted the house and cleand every part of my lab spot less.it sucks that i have quit though cause i have all my distilation stuff that was over 2k :( but im goin to donate it to my school
i wana join but i probly wont cause i have realy bad lung problems : ( (i was alchemicallife ) but i quit chemistry.my favorite chemical had to be bromine or potassium chromate or tricromate even though i have not made or used them they where dtill vary beutiful well i love u all and i will se yeal later
@vinay0429 a lot of people tell me its a good show, and I've seen the pilot, but many home chemists feel it casts us in a bad light, like drugs and money are really our motivations if the situation is right.
I didn't get this in my subscription box... Oh well luckily I checked your page :P Great video by the way!! I wish I could do some of these reactions but where I live you can't buy any chemicals what so ever unless you are a big business :( But maybe one day!! lol Oh and keep up the great work hkparker, your videos are really nice/awesome!! :D
Excellent HK, I loved this compilation and am really looking forward to any future episodes. These reactions were exciting to watch yet demonstrated in a safe, professional light. I really loved the absorbic acid and sodium hypochlorite reaction. Hope he was wearing a face shield. I really like what you and the the other channels you recommend are doing on the Tube. Kind of a movement, in my mind at least.
@TheBot0nist Thank you! Part 2 is already shaping up to be pretty successful. I too was pretty impressed with it, I defiantly did not expect that intense of a flame.
I hope its some sort of a movement, I think we could use the encouragement of science in this public setting. I feel like thats what NurdRage started with the sub4science movement, and I'm happy to continue it.
Love the chlorine reactions, after my last run in with it, I'm a little scared to work with it! How many beakers were used? It must suck to clean them all up.
The 20% hydrazine and periodic acid one would go well with "ALWAYS I WANNA BE WITH YOU AND MAKE BELIEVE WITH YOU AND LIVE IN HARMONY HARMONY OH LOOVE" as soundtrack.
Red fuming nitric acid?

@hkparker what can potassium permanganate be used for apart from its reaction with glycerin, can it be used in flash powder?

@hkparker
drugs and money is always my motivation lol
I'm really interested in chemistry, but my brain can't sit through all the classes in highschool and falls to sleep.
"a friend of mine" made his own DMT, his first ever home-chemistry experiment. it turned out to be a huge success ;)
One day a kid is going to watch one of your videos and say to themselves "wow, i want to be a chemist."
keep up the great work :D
