damn it! guys be careful doing this! Everything was going great until I realized that I was sonld an iPhone 3GS digitizer, not an iPhone 3G digitizer. The 2 ribbon is a different shape and won't work. Be careful when ordering yours. I got mine off of amazon, so now I'm trying to get my money back... just double check everything so you don't end up like me.
just a suggestion to everyone. Rather than buying the digitizer alone - just buy it as a set with the home button and everything. the difference is minimal and you dont have to use the heatgun and adhesive strips, just pop out the LCD and pop it in the new bracket. much easier and hassle free. i damaged my home button while messing with heat gun.
i have a quick question, i just put in my new digitizer and the LCD screen turns on and it works but the touch screen isnt working, which cable # is the touch screen function cable? also what is the cable #3 fuction for? does it have to be slid in all the way til the white line or is just enough okay? because i dont want to force it and bend or crimp the strip, anything would be helpful, thank you.
nice, but actually you must be VERY carefull doing all that, don't rush , take time. I can't wait my glass comes cause i ordered one for my 3G, its broken too.

The outer rubber of my iphone has worn out, is this rubber glued to the digitizer or to the frame were the digitizer is placed?

Double check the LCD and Digitizer cable connections. Make sure they are completely plugged in.
