they don't know whether they should

expand a persons knowledge or

@croscream you are probably correct. But, the problem, if they don't know, then why are they teaching children. The education field is filled with people who 'want to make a difference' in YOUR life. You can also include lazy underachievers, moral rejects and fools. Learning, knowledge or expansion of consciousness is the goal, but, you'll never find that in public school or many colleges, they are more 'trade schools' How about reducing K-12 to K-10. And they give you homework?
