I had the great privilege of having a voiceover class with Lucille Bliss as our instructor in 1990 or thereabouts. Don't remember the exact date. I would know if I looked up info on Mel Blanc, because he died while we were in class. A sad day for voiceover. She was very sweet.
@Prankster206 Don't forget June Foray who played Lucifer the cat and June's definitely still alive; she's returning as Granny and Witch Hazel on the new Looney Tunes Show coming out next year (2011).
Great interview. Amazing how Miss Bliss KEPT that New York accent despite moving away at 4 or 5- compare the accent to Mae Questel(a lifelong New Yorker)! Funny that she admitted to being born 1916 but then claimed she moved to California when she was 12 years old 'in the '40's'! Anyway, she sounds like a live wire and it showed in her vocal career!
You worked with my father- in- law Russ Coughlan on Crusader Rabbit. Your paths brought you together. Some of us will never forget the work and risks you took at the beginning of a new industry. I used to love hearing everything pertaining to those humble beginnings.
Regardless of her birth year, she continues to be the quintessential symbol of energy & enthusiasm. She laid track to females performing in animation.

It's incredible. I hear Miss Bitters... but she's a nice old lady. She's pretty much the Queen of Voice Overs.

This is history. We will never see this kind of talent again. Sad, but at least we have these video's to remind us.
