  • This story for some reason has fascinated me since I first heard of it.

  • That is incredible for anyone to survive in the Andes for 72?

  • i don't know what it is called but thubs up if you have seen the movie of this

  • @loljeck That would be "Alive" amigo. Not the greatest of movies but based on a fantastic story

  • Their Rugby team was called the Old Christians, the first person to find them after their ordeal was a Sheppard. Who, just happened to have some bread, Cheese and pencil and paper to throw to the boys who wrote a note telling their saga and asking "where are we?". For those that don't believe in God, I know there is NO DOUBT what the survivors would say. This story is one of true triumph and is meant to teach you how great life really is, every second of it.

  • lol woops sorry didnt realize EVERYONE noticed the same exact thing haha

oh p.s. theres a MUCH better doc. about this from the discovery channel called>I AM ALIVE> much much less campy

  • Sound cuts out at 2:40-3:08

  • god I love this narrator's voice

  • Who gives a shit about ethnicity. I'm a Spanish speaker and would have not minded at all if instead of being the Andes of Argentina, they would have used the Rockies of USA. You didin't expect Russell Crowe to speak Latin in Gladiator, did you?

  • Why does sound cut out at 2:40?

  • Sound cuts out at 2:40

  • 0:24 HOLY COW!

  • Ooomg! Wtf happened to the noise?!?!?

  • It's worth mentioning that the narrator you hear is the exact same narrator for Air Crash Investigation.

  • @fs10inator Yay!

  • WTF??! Why is the sound off at 2:40!!!???>=(

  • GOD PEOPLE SHUT UP ABOUT ACCENTS IN MOVIES. You just don't GET it do you? You don't hear your own accent till you're abroad and then you hear a guy from your country, and you go.. hey. I just saw the story being told in plain English, just as I read in plain English.

  • wtf happened to the sound at 2:40??????????

  • i like history channel documentary somebody post that one up

  • @olg06 I saw that last night. It was better than the movie. If i'm not mistaken, they went down Friday 13 and 13 people died before the others died. Also,it was 1972 and they spent 72 days out there.

  • this narrator is the same guy who does the air crash investigation narration

  • I JUST read and finished the book for the first time today and it was crazy!

  • they had lighters to light ciggerates couldn't they make fire lolz

  • @Bcboi92

    Hey, your right!

  • @Bcboi92 Anything you burn is gone, anything thats gone is stuff you cannot use to make insulation with, they were in summer clothes southern hemisphere seasons are reversed. Plus when your that cold, and in shock rapid warming that a fire could create would kill you outright. Making a fire would have just killed them faster.

  • @Bcboi92 mostly all of the interior and items in an airplane are flame retardant, there for making it impossible to set them on fire.

  • they ddint go scoffing there faces with flesh like that,

they left the flesh on a rack for the fat to drip off then they would roll them in little pellets and hand them out, many people were reluctant to eat it, one man refused and he died, many say he was the most coragegoues

  • you made me laugh man lol why dont you just leave her in peace? you have choice but they didint ;)

  • what an incredible story, gives me the goosebumps. I will never see life the same way...seriously

  • I always new friday the 13th was unlucky!

  • wtf is going on with this! 2:40 then its ruined?! :(

  • The audio returns at 3:10

  • I remember a made-for-television movie in the Seventies about this.

  • Pure balls. I think it's pretty clear who would have won the rugby match had there been no plane crash.

  • xD hell yeah

  • for sure mate

  • Yeah they would have ate the opposition up.. literally.

  • I lol'd hard

  • @plaidnum nice comment lol

  • @plaidnum Yea,for real!!

  • they are really strong to endure something like that.

i would have died before the plane even split in half

  • afiraa thanks for downloading this!!

  • this is what happens when you fly without instruments and try ot use estimation with the use of time/speed.

  • where the hell is the sound about 2:40

the sound disepears. then it comes agian at 3:20. anyway nice vid

  • came at 3:10

  • what caused the plane to crash?

    was it the turbulence

  • The plane was off-course and had begun descent onto santiago while still over the mountains.

  • @jetstorm747 human error from a semi-drunk co-pilot.

  • It is a Malay language, used in Malaysia and Indonesia.

  • its in malay.

  • I can never understand why thay didn't try to build a hugh fire so a plane can spot it.

  • there are no trees, no forest, nothing for them to burn.

  • @joweelo they could use any paper of clothes. suitases. idk lol

  • snow is wet, it would extinguish the fire. clouds and wind would obscure the smoke, and push it down wind which would make the origin hard to locate.

  • and what would u burn?

  • They did try cooking the meat, educate youself before you say stupid things.

  • It was a joke about making spare ribs, stupid. I know what they tried and didnt try. I dont base my knowledge of what happend on a poorly acted movie like you did probably. And what makes you think that you are so intelligent.

  • and what makes you think your joke was funny?

  • And what makes you think I care what you think?

  • shut up asshole

  • THERE WAS NOTHING BUT SNOW..

  • I met the Doctor that was on that plane, its ironic cause I met him on a plane when I was flying to Japan.

  • southphilly, i'm pretty sure the movie alive was aimed more at telling the heroic story and less concerned with ethnicity, it was aimed at an american audience dumbass

  • why does that matter? the point is to let people know what happend that day not how the characters looked or sound

  • @southphillyitaliana

According to your comments, only Uruguayan actors should have had the right to play these guys? Because if you judge a movie by the accents of the actors, no one could ever more play any role in the world....

  • hmm... did anyone else have the sound die-out at around 2:41 only to have it come back at about 3:10 ?

could someone translate the subtitles from that short section or tell me what was going on coz i totally missed it!

  • Yup, it did it to me too, the sound cutting out, but most of what was cut out was a commercial ;) I can't translate for you, but the part that was quiet was one survivor telling what it was like minutes after the plane crash :)

  • thx! i watched the movie so i get what happend anyway

  • me! -.-"

  • watch the movie it tells you what happend

  • Go read the book.

  • donde puedo encontrarlo en español?

  • is this the movie "alive"?

  • Exactly ...but the story...is real.

  • This is only a doc about the story, I hope someone will upload the real movie "Alive" sooner or later

  • it's already on youtube. just type " alive 1993part " only and then u may see the whole movie!!

  • thx i've also been wanting to see it it is an amazing story!

  • In Spanish: El avion cayo causado por lo que se conoce como corriente en chorro.

  • OMG

  • i just read the book miracle in the andes by nando parrado...

  • what language is that translation? :o

  • The official language in Malaysia, Malay language.

  • it's a quite cool language

I might try to learn it :p

    ;)

    X

  • Semoga Berjaya = Good Luck
