I much prefer the original Titanic, it's just a stunning piece of art. Would have been better if it was made of Titanium instead of Iron but I guessed they learned from that didn't they.

just so everyone knows, the queen mary held the blue ribbon title from 1938 to1952 crossing the atlantic at 31 knots...titanics maximum speed was 23 knots...till this day there arnt any ships that come close to Queen marys speed...except for the SS United States that took and still holds the blue ribbon :)

Titanic 45,000 tons and qm 86,000 tons. Titanic is beautiful, and the movie is great, but it isn't the grandest ocean liner in the world.

Although I love the Titanic and she is obveously the most famous of all the Ocean Liners, I have to pick the Queen Mary because I was there when she came to Long Beach in 1967 and have had a special place in my heart for her always. I even worked on her once. and still visit her to this day.

I will always love the Queen Mary far more than the Titanic as the QM has a very long and very intresting lifes story she is a very rugged and determined survivor. My favorite based on looks is the QM's rival Normandie.

Honestly I like both the Queen Mary and the Titanic but the Titanic

the queen mary had alot more public rooms and amentities than the titanic sorry. The Titanic was a great ship and everything but if you really know ANYTHING about the Queen Mary, it was far more advanced in structure and art. aside from the staircase, the Titanic didnt have any soaring ceilings, 3rd class was spartan, and the ship sank from an iceberg, the Queen Mary crashed into a warship, cut it in half, and wasnt in much danger of sinking.
The Olympic sliced straight through a medium sized ship and escaped with a small paint mark on the bow. The Queen Mary would have sunk if she had sustained the same damage as the Titanic did. Going on that logic, you could argue the SS. Great Britain was the best because she escaped damage similar to what the Titanic did and she carried on sailing.

True the QM never hit an iceberg. However during WW2 she did colide with an escort cruiser (HMS Curacoa) taking an 11 foot section of her hull out at her waterline. Luckily the Queen Mary's water tight compartments were actually Water tight.

In my opinion, Titanic is probably the best looking ship of all time. The exterior looked rigid and masculine with a slightly organic touch. The interior design of the Titanic is very unique because of the differences between the classes. First class had some of the most ornate detailing as well as new technology, yet third class looked of a totally different world entirely. Titanic would be the ship to explore!

The Queen Mary was obviously a better ship than Titanic but the Titanic will always be better known because the way she went down and plus they made a movie out of it which topped the box office..... but nice video

It can be claimed that the Titanic was destroyed by hubris. The Queen Mary never pretended to be other than what she was — a big ship to carry all her passengers in safety, through the storms of the North Atlantic and of war. She and her sister, the Queen Elizabeth, made Dday possible in 1944, rather than 1945. That is the clincher.

This music makes me sad in some way. Im sure someone agrees with me. And yes, the Queen Mary did outrank the Titanic in size speed and power and probably luxury. I live in Long Beach and I personally like the Titanic more. The Titanic is the most famous ship in history. It will forever be remembered as one of the first luxury ships to ever sail.....and then die 5 days later

Titanic: 21 knots (cruising speed). Queen Mary: 28.5 knots (cruising speed). The Queen Mary out ranked the Titanic in size, speed, and power. During the Queen Mary's construction Cunard and White Star merged. Queen Mary first sailed as a Cunard White Star Liner. Cunard got rid of the White Star in the 50's.

@RMSDAT but remember cunard didnt get RID of white star. they had to become the same company because ocean liners started gettin old and the golden age of planes were coming. And 46,000 horsepower is amazing for a ship under 100 ft. and isnt the queen mary supposed to be newer? i thought by then ships would be at LEAST 250,000 horsepower. titanic was very modern for her age. queen mary on the other hand was just one of the many cunarders.

much more classy? the queen mary was the standard of luxury for decades, if youve been on the queen mary, youve only seen whats left of it, but when the queen mary sailed, it made the titanic look like a piece of crap. inside and out. the titanic was great but it was the same as every other white star ship up until it sank, it was just big.

the only real problem with the Queen Mary is that it was robbed of most of its artwork and gutted when it came to long beach. and for your information ,
dadnapt24 the Queen Mary has a ballroom that is three decks high.

the queen mary had alot more public rooms and amentities than the titanic sorry. The Titanic was a great ship and everything but if you really know ANYTHING about the Queen Mary, it was far more advanced in structure and art. aside from the staircase, the Titanic didnt have any soaring ceilings, 3rd class was spartan, and the ship sank from an iceberg, the Queen Mary crashed into a warship, cut it in half, and wasnt in much danger of sinking.

The Olympic sliced straight through a medium sized ship and escaped with a small paint mark on the bow. The Queen Mary would have sunk if she had sustained the same damage as the Titanic did. Going on that logic, you could argue the SS. Great Britain was the best because she escaped damage similar to what the Titanic did and she carried on sailing.

True the QM never hit an iceberg. However during WW2 she did colide with an escort cruiser (HMS Curacoa) taking an 11 foot section of her hull out at her waterline. Luckily the Queen Mary's water tight compartments were actually Water tight.

Im gonna have to go with Titanic,because its my dream ship and I know more facts about it then Queen Mary and plus Titanic sank and Queen Mary is in Long Beach and more people know about Titanic then Queen Mary.EXAMPLE:Once i drew a picture of Queen Mary 2 and I asked my friend if he could guess what the name of the ship was and OMG he said TITANIC xD Even when the name was stairing him right in the face and Queen Mary 2 looks NOTHING like Titanic : )

i dont think titanic ever went down as when they found the wreck they could never find her name on the side and 1 week before titanic went on the maden cruise her sister ship had a it an small ice burg cutting the same leungh of the ship and it was just patched up as the insurance would not pay up so i think that the ship that went down was in fact the sister ship do some reasherch on google if u dont think i am right

And how could you find the name ? it disapeared after 74 years of rusting and rotting! and the titanic had a few diferences then the olympic( not in general, but nore detailed)

Of course i know that their are 3 sister ships. Olympic, Titanic and Britannic. Britanic wasnt built when titanic sank. so it cant be mixed up with the other 2. and the ships were originally designed the same (except for a couple of interior differences) but after the titanic disaster, the olympic was refitted,a nd britanic was suposed to have a pipe organ but never happened due to ww1

I like both for different reasons. I like Titanic because it had a unique design and the story of its creation. It's quite tragic it went down.
I favor the Queen Mary on the fact that it has survived long enough for me to see it. I took a tour inside and was amazed to be inside it.

In my opinion, Titanic is probably the best looking ship of all time. The exterior looked rigid and masculine with a slightly organic touch. The interior design of the Titanic is very unique because of the differences between the classes. First class had some of the most ornate detailing as well as new technology, yet third class looked of a totally different world entirely. Titanic would be the ship to explore!
