I have a few Q's: 1) How heavy does that mask weigh? Are we talking a couple of pounds? 2) When you painted it, did you use a primer before the orange? Thankies!
@JoeMBusa I think it will if you seal it in with any type of varnish or finish. 'Modge Podge' is ment to be good for making Model Magic clay harder but I don't know as I have never used it. But if you do give it a try, please let me know how it turns out!
@ninjakaraca44 You could use paper mache however you would have to make a sculpture of the mask out of clay, wire mesh or plasticine in order to mold the paper mache over it and create the mask. It would be a lot more easier, quicker and cheaper way just to use crayola model magic clay for the mask. It would also be stronger than paper mache, it is easier to work with when adding the detail to it and look more effective than paper mache. But if you choose paper mache, let me know how it goes! ^^
@jesusum17 You could try it! However it will take longer to dry than the hot glue and it may not be as strong as the hot glue. But try it out and let me know how it goes!
@you2661 No problem! I haven't used oil in place of vaseline so I don't know if it would have the same effect or not! However i'm sure that olive oil would be good enough to make sure that the clay doesn't stick to the balloon. Do a tester first before you make your mask so that you can see if it works or not. I hope that helped :)
@DocterE01 Oh yes! I had forgotten about that suff! Too bad I can't buy it where I live :( they don't sell it near me. I hope this video still helped though!
@ARAkjub It depends what type of clay you use. I don't know what type of clay I used but it dried quite lighter that most clays. It is heavy (not too heavy) but it is also very strong. The reason I chose clay was because it was easy to apply detail to it and easy to get the effect that I wanted.
@Mattmeo11 Yes I guess you could! As long as it is air drying clay. You might want to paint it if the orange doesn't turn out the way you like it though. It would be nice to see the finished result!
@luckylucy73 won't deidara blow your face off since its clay

what id the mask get wet? would it be soft again?
iLlolomo010 3 months ago
@iLlolomo010 Erm I'm not too sure, the paint would protect it to some extent but if it got soaked then it would ruin it.

@luckylucy73 i'm finish on the mask but every 1hour or less the mask has a crack! what should i do?
iLlolomo010 2 months ago
@iLlolomo010 Fill the gaps in with car body filler or wet clay and smooth it down before it dries. That should get rid of all the cracks :)

JoeMBusa 6 months ago
@JoeMBusa 1) The clay I used was really heavy so you would be better off using model magic clay which would be a lot lighter.
2) I didn't use a primer before the orange paint however I had to do a couple of layers of the orange paint. You can use a primer if you want to :)

awesome
wolf25705 7 months ago
@gaaralover1234561 I would say about 2-3 days as it will take about a day (if not more) for the clay to dry and a day for the paint to dry.
