A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
Interesting seeing the wheels force the switch open. (I would expect that switch to change when the other switch closes to send the train to its right.)
Also interesting seeing the white (X) lamp which indicates thathe crossing signals have closed the grade crossing (level crossing).
It's called a spring switch. They use them on some railroads where it's impractical to have controlled points or manual ones. The really neat thing is, in parts of Japan, some trams use them to allow the trains to switch over to the other track (double track systems) by simply reversing their direction.
@robertgift That is a spring switch. We have similar arrangements on some lines here in the United States. It allows the switch to remain in normal through position for the main line without requiring the opposing movement to manually turn the points. In many cases it is a fail safe for through trains on the main and is helpful on lines with heavy traffic.
A lovely example of the well organized and briskly executed nature of local passenger train operations in Japan... together with a clear illustration at the end of how "sprung points" work.
(And to those who say it looks bumpy: that's what springs are for! I've been on French autorails where you could feel every single rail-joint through your spine -- the "bumpiness" you see here is, in fact, an indication that these trains have excellent suspension.)

@saitamatokoname 地方私鉄は資金のある都市の鉄道ほど頻繁にメンテナンスができないので、レールが歪んで乗り心地が低下するのは仕方のないことです。

Yes. Thanks dark.
A YouTube video shows where a tram stops withe front wheels AFTER the spring switch and the rear wheels BEFORE the switch.
Idiot operator caused his tram to become damaged and stuck as he backed.
The front wheels diverted to the siding track and rear wheels continued on the straightrack.

最後のシーンのポイントですが、これは「スプリングポイント」と言って車両が車輪で自ら動かすタイプのポイントです。実際動かしているシーンにお目にかかるのは稀ですが、、、。
