I have to say that the sexual discrimination against men is quite common in most commercials. I haven't seen the Philedelphia Cream Cheese commercial, but I have noticed commercials where women are doing the cleaning and the men don't do anything. This shows not only men are lazy, but women are the ones that do the cleaing. So it works both ways in the terms of stereotypes.
There are commercials where men are protrayed as perfect "good looking cosmo guys." That don't bother me cause to me, cause I look at it as another person. It does get me that they are protrayed as the "good looking male." It's almost as if they are trying to advertise to women only. That's just my opinion there.
As for the the guy (visiblemode), who showed his chest, I have to say that he shouldn't gotten flagged at all. I mean if a woman is doing that, then shouldn't she get flagged too then? Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with women or men expressing their sexuality, but there is a fine line between being clean and dirty. The guy, visblemode, was being clean and not dirty at all.

i agree with you, it the cleaning part falls under the men can do anthing women can, and vice versa, men can be nurses, when i was 8 i got surgery, they were tryng to get my veins with a needle, after three girls tried twice each, a guy did and got it in his first shot, also i no girls who do "guy stuff" such as playing video games, or watching sports, still the video touched me, thanks for seeing the guys point of view

They present men that way on TV, But In the real world men generally have more leg room to get where they are trying to do. Women are discriminated against constantly, its just been made socially "taboo". So you won't see it on TV. Some would consider women only getting TV time/attention purely on the way they look discrimination. The world isn't perfect and never will be, there are faults on both sides, deal with it.

In order for your premise to hold, the discrimination you cite would have to be tied to an inherent power disparity that has been wrested away by women. I am happy to see that women have gained as much as they have in the last 100 years, but I don't see men having lost that much power in the long run. As Margaret Atwood has correctly pointed out, women's bodies have been used for everything from nut crackers to lamp posts. Men might be filling in for some of those roles now also. Is that bad?

I have to say that the sexual discrimination against men is quite common in most commercials. I haven't seen the Philedelphia Cream Cheese commercial, but I have noticed commercials where women are doing the cleaning and the men don't do anything. This shows not only men are lazy, but women are the ones that do the cleaing. So it works both ways in the terms of stereotypes.

There are commercials where men are protrayed as perfect "good looking cosmo guys." That don't bother me cause to me, cause I look at it as another person. It does get me that they are protrayed as the "good looking male." It's almost as if they are trying to advertise to women only. That's just my opinion there.

As for the the guy (visiblemode), who showed his chest, I have to say that he shouldn't gotten flagged at all. I mean if a woman is doing that, then shouldn't she get flagged too then? Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with women or men expressing their sexuality, but there is a fine line between being clean and dirty.
