Thanks for posting - brilliant stuff! He re-tuned his cello in fourths like a bass and played melodic solos - easy to hear where Paul Chambers got his solo style from. OPs Perdido is another brilliant cello performance only available on 78s I think - can one of you brilliant youngsters get your hands on this and post it, I wonder? A comment below gives praise to Bud Powell which is fine. He did not appear here, surely?

Actually, there's no guitar on this, the cello has the lead played by Oscar, Joe Comfort on bass... Classic Pettiford - swinging and sweet.
