i would like to know too the origins of han people... i have never visited modern china but have come to know people from south looks totally different from north and from west in china.. as a southern chinese i believe to have descended more from vietnam than original Han.. when Qin conquered Yue state that reaches from modern Quangdong to Fujian proviences of china. thus Han may or may not mixed.

well tell you this my friend, there's some famous historians who simply noted that the whole Han ethnicity is build upon cultural recongnition rather than pure lineage recognition, so more or less, if someone takes in Chinese culture and Confucian idea for long enough, and eventually was merged, they are concidered Han people....

Qing dynasty was manchurian rule and resides in north eastern region in todays china... yet again manchuria state was again overuled by many enthic groups ie Kithans, Han, koreans and other smaller groups. during the fall of Ming dynasty manchurian ordered "chinese" to obey their custom or headed and was a time frame given to conform. but "chinese" choose not to as an allegiance to Ming and resulted in many deaths. Soon many of the manchu have assilmilated into chinese

nice one but i have not been into the yuan dynasty era b4 and i cannot really assume things told to be factual or not even if is written in historical manner... so much so that kublai khan which he created beijing as capital of yuan and i would not say that chinese would intermarriage with the mongolians cause in chinese text mongols were termed as Xiong nu as barbarians. yet with chinese advancement and culture mongols have adopted alot from chinese at yuan which lasted decades

@astr0tugi i guess far as during china's Han dynasty there were intermarriages between chinese into mongolians (xiongnu) ... to claim peace treaty as Han was loosing its power when Xiong nu became hard to handle... second wave is when yuan dynasty (mongolian rule) and far much beyond that most of the mongoloid races were derived mainly from mongolia and we resembles same to almost alike... yet is hard to determine but too naive to address mongolian as turks ...

the mongolians are not exactly of turkic people ... mongolia being sharing boders with china , manchurian and to as far as western turkic part of central asia thus mongolians are very mixed... i would say mongolians as mongoloid people are traditionally closer to chinese, korean and japanese people in terms of resembalance... but western mongols have again mixed with turkic people thus is not easily addressed as mongols are turkic
