This was not seamless and the line was not buried 10 ft under the Snake River. During plowing operations the line being installed broke. A year later the line washed out during spring runnoff, consequently because the line wasn't buried deep enough. I would say the HPDE line was probably buried 4'-5' below the Snake at it's shallowest point. I would not recommend this method of installation for water crossings.
it is spelt Fockersperger and yes, it is German. This is a Fockersperger machine. I use to run a cable laying crew in Australia and we used these machines however' our winches were mounted on Mercedes Unimog trucks.
