This song is hauntingly beautiful I find myself listening with my head down and my eyes closed envisioning a garden with black flower pedals falling down as a woman strolls through seemingly unnoticed toward a singular grave in the back and kneels. She silently lifts her head and glances at me with these hauntingly black eyes that turn blue as she tucks a strand of hair that has fallen in front of her face, back behind her ear, drops a single tear, smiles, then disappears. Can you see her?
@axel4clover1 Not at MY funeral, there are equally good songs for a funeral on it, but Rooster? I wasn't in Vietnam, or any other war for that matter, so that would be kinda weird. Fuck though, any Alice in Chains would make for some damned good funeral music.
He managed to write words and music from the bottom of his heart, and you write that kind of song once in your life, once or never. We love you, Layne, and this one's for you, man.
Sounds like a song about how Layne sort of gave up and kept falling deeper into addiction. Lots of pain in this one from what I can tell. I'll remember you. How could we forget him?
@blope332 Yea, thats what i interperted from it. Also, I think the black refers to the depression Layne was going through, and eventually... that black faded to blue... If u know what i mean
i like it when a song starts playing and it allready has my attention and keeps my attention through the whole entire song thats why Alice In Chains is my favourite band
I honestly don't understand these people. If a band changes it's style they complain because they want the same style. But if they don't they complain that their albums are all the same and they never change! MAKE UP YOUR MINDS. You people that criticize the new AIC clearly havent heard music nowadays, that is somethin worth criticizing. Be happy that AIC is still tryin to do good music; this is a kick ass album, SO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY GOOD MUSIC DANMIT!
want this song to go on for about 30 mintues
