  • This captain is Jeremy Clarkson approved for his liberal use of POOOWWWWEEERR!

  • risky business.

  • why all the negatives?

  • I would bet his pucker factor still goes up every time he does this..

  • Next time try it with Royal Caribbean!

  • I love the Oregon Coast!

  • WOW! This Captain, made crossing the bar look easy!

  • Now that's balls.

  • great drivin

  • the guy knows the place like the back of his had… ot even better ! …

  • Thats a pretty narrow bar!

  • That guy obviously knows his boat and the waterway like the back of his hand.

  • holy crap

  • Actually, thats the only way to come in when it's rough, the boat will track better at speed. If you try and come in slow the rough water might just push you aground. Key is staying focused. I'm sure he's has done it plenty of times. Depoe is very dangerous in rough water. AS you can see how narrow the entrance is.

  • LIKE A SOMEBOOOOOODDDDDDDAYY.

  • that guys got some fucking balls

  • who is he?

    chuck norris?

  • Pretty narrow channel, but not that bad!!

  • He has to do it with full speed....

  • @RyanSpencer83 What people will do for views.

  • whoop-dee-do

  • LOOKS LIE WHERE THEY FILMED THE BOAT SCENE FROM

"ONE FLEW OVER THE COOKOOS NEST"

  • Heh, the faster you approach tight stuff the better it works out, go slow, end up with a hole in your boat.

  • This is definitely DePoe Bay, I am a DePoe, this bay was named after my ggggrandfather. Ive fished on those boats, its kinda freaky but when youve got the seasickness the faster that captain goes into the harbor and gets you on solid ground the better. best fishing ever, depoe bay, go DEPOES.

  • Depoe Bay, Oregon. They do this all the time. No big deal...

  • A close family friend, and retired Coast Guard captain, was coming back into Depoe bay in his 19’ boat when one of the Tradewinds charter boats decided not to wait. Incoming vessels have priority, and the charter boat put him within inches of the rocks. When he got in, the first thing he did was rip Tradewinds a new one!

  • hey that's in newport

  • @llyod712

No it's not. This is Depoe Bay.

  • @catguy43 it's in newport i sould now i loved there for like 10 years

  • @llyod712

It's in Depoe Bay. I should know, I have lived there MY ENTIRE LIFE!

  • @llyod712

Definitely Depoe. Google Street View, and you can see the exact same scene, with "Channel House" and the Gallery seen at 0:31 in video, same unusual sea wall, same bridge style, etc.

  • @llyod712 Dude, its Depoe.

  • if he didn't go full speed he would hit the rocks so that make sense

  • Most boats have to go in/out at low tide, high tide the water is too close to the bridge for the boats to fit under. I didn't notice any marine life, however I'm surprised that you couldn't hear the sea lions barking, there are normally 15-30 of them on the rocks in the bay

  • Now that dude can drive a boat!

  • @mont1994 same im very disapointed

  • He might also go through that channel at planing speed to reduce his draft, if the water is shallow (which it probably is). And, if there's a strong current and wind (which there appears to be) then going fast helps overcome or compensate for those forces.

  • @DonTruman yup

  • This isn't the only approach to Depoe Bay is it?!? Lol, sorry, I have no clue about this area. Absolutely fantastic maneuvering by the captain in this clip!

  • WOW! Great piloting!

  • Marine life at 0.20 on the ship's starboard side. Sharks/dolphins?

  • @chrisb1953 they're called rocks buddy

  • this video should say " Fast fishing charter boat goes full speed down a stream inbetween rocks"

  • Love this spot, have been through here many a times in my distant past fishing from theTradewinds. Always feel a certian level of excitement as lining up to ride in. Great shot

  • ive came in there on a 56by16ft crab boat the TANA C at night was crazy but well worth it went out 2 diner got drunk and left by 6 am and started running gear inside the whistle bouy wish we could do that every night

  • Something tells me that captian knows the waters fairly well.

  • @DG121480 yeha he does that shit every day

  • This is very cool. I live on the east coast and own a boat myself. I thought New Jersey inlets were intense, this beats anything Ive seen!

  • THATS CRAZY

  • Gotta love shooting the hole at Depoe Bay

  • I can't believe that is actually an inlet to a harbor.

  • About ten years ago I took my Waverunner through this channel for a quick ocean ride. It was the craziest harbor that I have ever seen! I spent about 30 minutes jumping the ocean swells, then took a break and rested. At that time the whale watching center was actually a working Coast Guard Station and one of the Guardsman thought that I was in trouble. They sent a cutter out to check on me. Once they saw that I was OK, they checked out all of my legal stuff and went back to port. I

  • @MoonShotMan It wasn't a cutter.

  • thats INSANE!
