Fabulous version, I'm lucky enough to own it and it gets played a lot....and a copy sold for 206 pounds on eBay a couple of days ago...!!!! AAAAGGGGHHHH!! Who pays that for an old 78..??
And how sad it is to realise that (almost) all these lovely girls and handsome boys are now no more. Time is the enemy, as Scott Fitzgerald (following his favourite poet Keats) understood. Only Art (e.g. a novel like 'The Great Gatsby', or wonderful evocative photography like this) can rescue life from the ravenous jaws of Time.
Oh yes, I do understand you. Maybe it's because of age that we are so nostalgic and I don't think that's odd. These were the roaring twenties and we did experience the swinging sixties. But I must confess: I prefer the roaring twenties
a bunch of mock-Scottish-jocks. Interesting that one of them appears to be black. I only see one flapper, though, a rather fat one, unless you're counting the one with her back turned, perhaps playing the piano.
i'd love to be dancing on that marble ledge overlooking the US capitol. I'm afraid that dapper man below, as well as the dancers would be arrested by Homeland Security these days..b ut maybe I'll try it anyway...

@GrenvilleT True, but death must happen to all, as well as time. But I do strongly concur with you.

Wonderful - would that dearest Mr Fitzgerald were still with us to comment!
For dead Jay Gatsby, 'In his blue gardens, men and girls' danced amidst 'the whispering and the champagne and the stars'.

What a great orchestra the Savoy Orpheans were. They dominated the 1920s in the UK.

Me, too, Miffy! Isn't it odd to feel so nostalgic for a period so far beyond us? I wonder why.

If anything it's a basketball team--more likely
