In what regard? Kung Lao has already been nerfed 4 times. And Kano isn't as strong as people would like to think. It's only because he's tied for strongest X-ray in the game (with Jax) that people complain, infact, every Kano I've faced recently has been hella scrubby. Poor zoning and predictable wake-up upballs.
@strykah92 It's not his Xray that bothers me, Kano has a ridiculous capability for zoning, his knife does a shitload of damage, and his upball is incredibly irritating. Kung Lao has so many safe moves and fast high-lows it's ridiculous, they don't need to nerf Kung Lao, they need to take him out completely, he's super fast, super damaging (over time), amazing capability for zoning, ridiculous safe moves, and the best wake-up in the game.
A naked Kung Lao wake up leads into 24% max. Compared to 20%+ and a reset Kabal and Sub-Zero can both throw in. Kitana too, I'm not sure if she gets a reset but it's still 30% easy and it might be a while before you're even able to break it since she's throwing fans all day. Besides, those latter 3 still have tools to keep you guessing, spin is really, the ONLY thing to expect from a grounded Kung Lao.
As for Kano, if he knocks you down, stay down, literally hold the down button, knives are inbound, to the point where they're gonna keep throwing knives to build meter (that's your chance to get a sly one in), or get frustrated and go in with a downball instead, instant block.
@strykah92 Problem is, none of that will work against a Kano that knows what he's doing. I'm rank 9 Ermac in the world, my mains are Ermac, Shang Tsung, Raiden, Baraka, and Cyrax I know all other characters though. However, despite that, Despite having nearly 3,000 wins and 95,000 respect points I have NEVER beaten a *good* Kano or Kung Lao. They're just Overpowered.

@tofujambo it's not getting taken out, it's just getting nerfed, you wont be able to do the yank from a net and the frame window to break out of it will be 10 as opposed to the current 2, also the damage will scale, so it won't do nearly as much. you shouldn't be doing this anyway, it's VERY cheap.
@JakeTF2 meh it's not cheap, think of it as zangief's spd. Just because the animation is longer (well, the following combo) doesn't make it that different. It's good that it's getting nerfed though, as long as it's not removed I'm happy. It would render cyrax pretty useless..
@tofujambo i completely dissagree, i get on just fine without it, as i flat out refuse to, it add's about 30% onto whatever follows, and if you yank after a net you can potentially get 2 nets in one combo and do about 80% he has plenty of other tools which are harder to do, but totally fiar.

@tofujambo no, it says alot when the ONLY thing the player is doing is trying desperately to land the bomb trap, it's an overpowered bug people are becoming dependant on, they're spending all their time finding the easiest ways to do high damage with the least amount of effort and not enough time learning the matchups, as it's still in it's early stages. all the matches i watched from pdp where the players lost as cyrax wasnt due to the trap not working, it was due to stupid mistakes.

I'm having this issue: I'll get the combo started with the net, then I'll set them up for the trap. Once the bomb detonates and they're airborne is where the trouble starts. Sometimes, Cyrax just drills them into the ground. Sometimes they bounce and I can continue the combo from there. I'm wondering why sometimes he just spikes them into the ground?
@Ragnareich Yes it is. The command Back + 1 (or Front Punch as the game calls it) is a throw. Meaning it can't be blocked but It CAN be throw breaked out of. So if you connect with the first part of the grab the three punches will connect.
Can this (or a similar setup) be done with human Cyrax? I ask because I noticed that human Cyrax's bombs roll a bit further before they detonate when compared to cyborg Cyrax. When I’m playing as human Cyrax, I can’t seem to push an opponent far enough for a bomb to hit if I do a Mid-Bomb after the command grab. I think it might work with a Close-Bomb in this case but the AI seems to be able to jump out of the setup before I can pin them down with a block string. Thank you for the reply!
@Herobreak Nope it doesn't work. Human Cyrax has slower start-up on both his net and his bombs. On the other hand, he has a safe teleport which... I wouldn't trade for a trap ;)
@tofujambo I would argue that Human Cyrax also has slight edge when bombs are on screen. Even though they have slower start up, once they hit the ground they make no sound, (unlike the wine of Cyborg Cyrax's bombs) so in middle of the fight it makes them harder to pay attention too. @dar1man uhh you can't jump back to safety. Unless you mean, dodging the actual grab animation, because once that's connected there's no way out. In any case, I hope it doesn't get nerfed, otherwise cyrax is nothing
@tofujambo don't take me wrong i really appreciated your tutorial! after many trials I just found out that if you keep mashing the up button (even better if you keep your left analog stick tilted up-forward) after you've been hit by the command throw there is a good chance that you can avoid the explosion even after being hit by a FP,BP (altough this really kill your chances expecially with a net) . I'm just trying to say that this in not the "ultimate move of fiery death that must be nerfed" :D

@Jackalofdeath no, I'm sorry, you're the one that has no idea what he's talking about. Watch some tournament play, specially sp00ky's stream on saturday, and a Cyrax player kept doing it. The trap was used online with success (although it is harder to pull off with the lag). In fact, I do it all the time myself and I tested it for a few hours against my roommate, telling him to try to get out: he couldn't.
Something to note though, is if the 111 is blocked, the last hit is slow enough that any character with an armor move or xray can hit cyrax before it makes contact thus avoiding the bomb trap. Against characters with this ability, you should use the 121 block string instead to be safe or simply end with 11 to bait them out.
@konqrr you're right, I knew that too, but I forgot to mention it. Something else to remember, too much stuff to learn at the same time in this game -_-
