  • 6 mb amazingly fast? nigger please

  • I live in Sweden and I had a 3.5 G modem that went up to 7.2 mbps. Our 4G network currently just in Stoöckholm will go up to 150 mbps. American 4G is only

Turbo 3g/3.5G/HSDPA. Not real 4G. That's why they re-name the 4G Phones in Europe.

  • Dear Sprint:

Please indicate your interest in a Unified USB family of devices so with one (1) Sprint USB 4G mode we can use it with our desktop, or laptop, or pad / tablet, or phone, or watch simply by removing the Sprint 4G USB (or "Thunderbolt") modem and plugging it into the size device suitable for our mobility / capacity needs at that time. This will increase demand for life-time contracts for Sprint unlimited 4G data plans. One very fast modem, for all your needs, for the rest of of your

  • lawl?! is the usa so slow?! in austria( NOT AUSTRALIA!austria is under germany) i can reach with 3g 2,7 mbps download an 1mbps upload

  • @007Danikiller007 the United States area is 3,537,441 square miles. Austria's area is 32,433 square mile. A big difference!!! its much harder to keep a wireless network in the United States consistent compared to most other countries. Thats another reason we are behind in technology. The USA is just too BIG to deploy networks as quick as other countries!!!!!!!

  • @yzerman19frazier that's bs from the telcos. dont drink the kool aid

  • When is Sprint going to quit using that UNLIMITED lie to sell their products and tell people it is capped at 5GB on the 3G network?

On my plan it says in big black letters...UNLIMITED but in the email I got I was told I was close to my 5GB limit. WTF Sprint.

  • @ARBuilder1776 i have a fucking 800 dollar bill be cause i didnt know about it im fucking pissed

  • @MrChoas966 Call them and tell them they need to work with you on it. I've heard they will give you a break the first time you go over. If they say no, I'd say well Im not paying it, but thats just how I am.

  • IPHONE 4Gs WE NEED YOU.....!

  • I am a national recruiter for Clear WIMAX 4G Network and am looking for sales people and recruiters to market our 4G Network. You will be paid $125 per sale to start plus be given an opportunity to build a sales team and earn management overrides. We are currently in several states with 80 cities scheduled to open by the end of 2010. This is an incredible opportunity and the timing couldn't be better! For more information go to Second Income Info.com (all one word)

  • ha beastie boys playing in the back ground

  • In Phila you should be happy if you can get 2500 download/1000 upload with Sprint 4G. There is a lot of disruptions during the connection. Netflix videos are not streamed for longer period than 5 minutes. Sprint network just throws you out

  • Samsung moment has no 4g the new htc Evo coming out in the summer will be the 1st 4g device

  • I wnt to know if its the moment will suport 4g I hear about it but I dont know

and one more thing its well most be cuase the moment its one of the phones with a big prosesor

Hero sucks not be support the flash player 10.1 and the hero prosesor sucks too slow than Moment

  • also check your laptop. Some laptops come embedded with Sprint 4G chipset inside the maching

  • sprint rules

  • just bought one and its okay....but no 4g why??? and im in atlanta....

  • @adrian2k7 4G is now in Atlanta. Did you buy u301 usb aircard or the overdrive device?

  • The overdrive device is now out and its getting very positive feedback. Same performance as the usb air card but also wifi enabled for all your wifi devices that need a fast connection

  • Sprint's "4G" is not 4G. The 4G standard is not even final yet and the specs call for about ten times the speed of Sprint's "4G" max speed.

Testing in the street for comparison purposes is fine, but how many people are whipping out a laptop in the street to do work? This "4G" speed will drop as soon as you get indoors and that's the speed that counts.

Someone pointed out the obvious overstatement of "3x." Good call on that one.

  • How often are laptops staying in their homes or work? Also remember 4G will be embedded in phones starting this summer with Sprint

  • 4G has been set though current Wimax does fall into 3.9 G but again your avg download speed is what it is

  • wimax is NOT 4G. It is merely a 3.9G. The real 4G is LTE. Wimax is NOT directly compatible with the existing CDMA2000 networks. LTE is directly compatible. EVDO rev B is the only way to go!

  • Correct but in the US we will not be rolling out revB (nether will Verizon hence their LTE roll out ) Being seperate however has its advantages. Current 4G speeds in US on Sprint are avg 4-7 Mbps download. Alot faster than 3G networks. I have been using 3G for years and I average about 700 kbps or .7Mbps. Wimax (Sprint's 4G is truly 5-10 times faster depending on capacity etc)

  • u301 and overdrive is better. Should check it out guys

  • The first batch of these units did not work with windows 7 but a new batch with the updated software is now in stores

  • DAAAAAAMMMNNNN... my U300 is being delivered today!!

  • works 100% with windows 7, using it on my windows 7 laptop right now..

  • After 15 hours total on the phone with Sprint Support they NEVER got the u300 to work on my laptop. Even going back and forth to the Sprint store they all said... "Nope wont work with Windows 7 ...new drivers or no new drivers" What they did was give me the new Sprint Overdrive wireless...That works fine.

  • does not work with windows 7

  • AT&T has the fastest 3g network beacause of their coverage sucks, with 4g,you can have the same speed as a super charged 3g network, with way more coverage

  • Wow! You don't know how utterly wrong you are. ATT's 3G coverage is not actually as bad as Verizon is making it out to be, albeit the worst of the 3 major 3G networks. ATT's 3G network is just not as advanced as Sprint's 4G. Sprint's 4G uses WIMAX technology, like a short-range WIFI broadcast, and tops out at 12mbps, compared to ATT's 7.2 mbps HSPA "super-charged" 3G. 7.2 averages from 3 to 5.5 mbps, while WIMAX averages from 4.5 to 9 mbps.

  • Sprint has also launch 4G in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Amazing how that 4G upload rate is faster than most DSL connections

  • and in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Burlington, Siler City! It's gonna be huge expansive in 2010!

  • @macsrule94 DSL sucks, I have it in my house, but now I have to get this Sprint 4G

  • Sprint 4G now in 46 markets as of today

  • @macsrule94 Yeah, because Time Warner is incredibly lazy and has horrendous business practices which seemingly go unnoticed in the Carolinas. I have no idea why I have 10mbps down but a half meg up. Terrible. I'm probably getting the Evo 4G and using that as my phone and hotspot.

  • ATT uses HSDPA in Chicago so it's way faster than the regular 3G network.. Sprint has lunched its 4G network here in Chicago, and it's competing with Comcast's 4G and Clear's 4G

  • @thematador09 Sprint/Comcast/Clear are all using the same clearwire WIMAX (Sprint Majority owened) network. Also WIMAX is already here LTE is still in testing and ATT has already said they are in no rush to begin on 4G

  • Clear's 4G IS Sprint's 4G. Sprint owns 51% of Clearwire and sells it's WIMAX service as Sprint 4G.

  • its actually 56% as of today

  • then does att have one.?

  • 3g and 4g are all fine and dandy, but on phones, the experience is totally different. you're talking about a device that has 1/4th of the processing speed as a laptop. Just saying, the usb hubs are different than phones themselves. I haven't seen any spectacular speed from any 3g device.

  • There are phones that handle 4G for voice just fine, they are just not deployed for Sprint's/Clear's network here in the US. (Japan and South Koread are using voice via their respective 4G networks today)

  • Sprint just anounced first 4G phone coming out this summer

  • HTC Supersonic

  • Does this device work for any laptop even if not a sprint user.?

  • yes

  • Yes it does as long as your laptop has a usb connection (which all do unless your laptop is really old)

  • it would be nice if these fucking wireless companys would take advantage of rural areas and supply 4G to those areas where their is no broadband of any kind.. and no i do not count satillite internet.. hughesnet is a joke.. here is to hoping that 4G comes to where i live.

  • 1. No data connection will ever perform as advertised.

4G may only improve what is already there.

    2. Sprint and other providers are know to ratchet down the connection speeds without the users knowledge.

    3. Their priority is their business accounts, not the individual.

    4. Remember in 1-2 years they will likely clamp bandwidth restrictions on your account like the ones in place now for 3G. If you have a 2 year contract you're going to be screwed.

  • 1. This is no advertisement! But a indepedent, usually overly critical, tech critic.

    2. I have had Sprint 3G (EVDO RevA) for a long time and the speed has only gone UP!

    3. It's a lie that Sprint's focus is business users, and even if it was, individuals can enjoy the same 3G/4G benefits as business users.

    4. I have had a Sprint 3G device for over a year and a half and there have been no bandwidth restrictions. I can watch download songs/movies, surf the net, etc all at the same time.

  • You are right about advertising "theoreticalo max speeds" a mistake I think. But wih that said we are avg 4-7 Mbps on 4G (download speed)

  • I just ran a battery of tests on Clear's 4G service. Average download speed 1.4 Mbps. The claims are a load of PR pablum.

  • unfortunately you cant exactly rely on these results. at the time of this video, the u300 was brand new, and baltimore was the only city to have 4g, so there was very very few people actually using the network. later in 2009 and into 2010, tons more citys will get 4g, and new 4g phones are coming out, this will slow the system down but still be over 2x faster than 3g. heck, still faster than most residential cable connections.

  • Average speeds on Sprint 4G is almost 8x faster than average 3G speeds. Think of the number of 3G users clogging and slowing down the Sprint 3G, yet it still hits over 1 Mbps in good coverage areas. The more 4G CDMA towers, the better the coverage, the better the speed! So your spiel about having more citys getting more coverage is fundamentally flawed!

  • The better the coverage does not mean better the speed. The speed is still determined by the load of the servers.

If you open up to more cities then more people will be using it, which means the speeds could go down due to a heavier load.

Just because there are more towers doesn't mean that it will also increase the capacity of the servers they use for 4G it will only increase the number of people who can connect.

  • Yes but remember we are using the technology to backhaul the data as well. Which is much faster than T1's and DS3's which are currently used to backhaul the data from cell cites. Also remember the amount of spectrum Sprint has, allows more traffic to be carried on each individual cell site, much more than current 3G networks

  • way to advertise CLEAR's 4G network under sprint's name. ill be glad tosay that i have the clear version and the good thin is that mine is uncaped as far as the speed, so the speed i get with my clear aircar is twice as fast as the ones that sprint offers,

  • Sprint owns 51% of Clearwire.

  • What was his testing web site?

  • speakeasy . net / speedtest

  • that's faster than my home computer :O

  • And just what happens to the speed of 4G when you have more than one guy using it ? 3G in Boston was blazing fast when it was first introduced, so almost no one was using it yet either. Lots of folks than hopped on 3G in Boston, and the speed dropped like a rock. Will 4G be any different ?

  • Clear/Sprint 4G has "total DEPTH of anywhere between 100 MHz and 150 MHz in most major U.S. markets."

"At the 700 MHz range, where AT&T and Verizon plan to deploy Long Term Evolution, the two big operators only have spectrum depth holdings of around 20 to 25 MHz each. As weve said before, this somewhat narrow depth of spectrum will initially mean LTE speeds far below the theoretical peak numbers that get tossed around in meaningless test situations."

  • Exactly. well said. More 120 MHz means a lot more capacity (more bandwith for more users for each cell site)

  • A little misleading to say the speed of AT&T was 1/3rd less. You should be slightly more accurate and say, the download speed was half, and the upload speed was 1/3rd the speed as compared to the Sprint download and upload test. Well, at least that is how I would have said it.

  • Baltimore!!!!!!!

  • Will this work in Raleigh NC?

  • Yes

  • Sprint has the fastest speed. I have done several test my self. I have friends who have other carriers and we do a speed test and Sprint was always the winner. I am from the Houston Texas area. I hope we get 4 g here soon.

  • how fast is your connection compared to a home DSL or cable connection.

  • @buckwheat40 I can hook you up with this device or also the new 3g/4g Overdrive device.

  • 4-7 Mbps avg download

  • Coming very soon.

  • I want to see 7.2Mbps HSDPA 3G compared to this

  • Too many things against att HSDPA 7.2mbps..they havent really even launch standard hsdpa in many areas and we are now in 2009?

  • I live in Los Angeles and we are gonna have it by the end of the year

  • AT&T is still at standard 3.6mphs HSPA but they will eventually launch 7.2 (update) and T-Mobile has 7.2 mphs (go figure) but it's available in less areas so I don't know what you'd chose. :D

  • Anyone who has come from ATT's 3G to Sprint's 3G will never go back to ATT. This is not the first test to show Sprint's dominance in 3G speed, compared to ATT. No brainer, prick Sprint! We are talking about wifi speeds with Sprint 4G that 7.2 won't even hold a candle to.

  • Sprint has a good network, better than T-Mobile, and Sprint has better pricing than T-Mobile.

  • i have a laptop in new york, and it goes up to 13000 kbps, so what the hell is he saying that its 500 kbps?

  • what device r u using, me want, my max speed is 1500 kbps, F!

  • I'm using a Late 2008 Macbook Pro 2.55 GHz Intel dual duo.

  • i mean isp

  • problem .

    you use a motherfucking mac

    i should knife u.

  • wow another mac hater. how can you hate on a manufacture for making good solid computers.

    you should knife yourself.

  • but you need to have Optimum online to get my speeds. now im in Lithuania and im getting 16000 kbps(Lithuania is in 3rd place by fastest downloading speed, and 1st on uploading :))

  • Is this over WiFi or a 3G wireless adaptor? I think you're misinterpreting.

  • Wow you truly are a moronic apple user. The 500kbps figure is using AT&T's 3G internet service. This is not WIFI. You are using a cellular network with a monthly subscription fee.

  • Is Sprint really the Nation's First 4G Network? I dunno, but what I do know is that my centro's downloading speed has gone up noticeably.

  • not nationwide so it dont matter

  • holly crap! thats fast, so are they still gonna cap at 5Gb montly?

  • No cap for 4G yet. $69.99/month unlimited 4G data. the 3G/4G plan is 69.99/mo and the 4G is unlimited while the 3G usage is capped at 5Gb.

Currently you can get just 3G at 59.99/mo and it caps at 5gb.

  • thats better, i hate caps, being a sprint employee, i can get it half the price, but, no point since i live in PR

  • When will this be available in PR?

  • they havnt told us anything about it yet.

  • No there is a plan that is unlimited that we just lowered from $69.99 to $59.99 Let me know if are interested

  • i dont know about ny, but atlanta hits 1.5 on at&t 3g. I hope you werent being dishonest about the ny test, but u most likely were since ur a sprint marketer....it would only make sense

  • fuckin a i want 4g in chicago and palm pre fuck!!!!

  • why arent we past 4g? at home get 20,000kbps dl, why cant we reach this spead on wireless?

or will it fry our branes?

  • Anything above 4G causes cancer.

  • haha, it should at that speed, jk, lol

  • haaha, that's powerboost dude, not continous

  • 4G is going to change America.. sprint is awesome as it is i can only imagine when 4G come to NJ.

I use that same site to test my up/download speeds. Ive gotten 2.3k dl speed and 1+k uploads on off peak hours in central jersey on my sprint card.

  • Sprint is so awesome that if you are late to pay your bill they will shut your phone off with little or no warrning. I hate Sprint and they are the worst wireless phone company in the U.S and they may be the first to offer 4g but others like At&t and Verizon will be faster trust me on this, The ONLY thing Sprint is good for is making bogus and fake charges on peoples phone bills and putting people on hold for hours and hours on end. Sad very sad.

  • same issue here

  • i have double download... it has triple upload

  • That's better than the DSL I have.

  • this is good news because here in kuwait

most people use 3 g internet

    the speed is brill

  • theyre probably going to make the iphone 4g now

  • There's no indication of such whatsoever.

  • no theres not, i dont know why people are talking about it so much

  • -_- 4g iphone would be retarted, someone would buy it in a different city that doesnt even have 4g...

  • actually it'd be just right. iphone's browser and framework makes for a fast webbrowsing device. it would be the ideal platform for faster speeds, you get more out of it.

  • but as you can see, not that many places have 4g... so if ur in florida, with a 4g iphone, and 4 g is only in baltimore, whats the point?

  • ya of course. but we're assuming 4g coverage has been deployed to the same level as 3g is now. in which case, that would be the iphone platform would make the most use of it in the pda category. but according to what you're saying, it's useless with any phone. or useless period, unless ur in baltimore. In accordance with the point your making

  • exactly :)

  • I'm guessing it's going to be another five years before we have full 4G coverage

  • if sprint was smart, they would lauch a whole nationwide 4g all at once, and take down other carriers...but thats just me:)

  • I hope we had that kind of speed down here in Mexico
