I think the reason Craig wasn't killed was to show the Doctor that even though he thinks he destroys everything he touches, the reality is quite the opposite. This man is knowingly going to face death in a matter of days. It's vital for him to know that his time was not a waste. I do agree that Craig getting out of the clutches of the Cybermen by the power of love was a tad cheesy, but at the same time I'm also glad that he didn't die, for the Doctor & Elfie's sake.
@brownie2794 My own take on why the conversion failed even though we heard the whirring blades is that the machinery is so old it's pretty much hit-or-miss as to when or even if it works. All of those cybermen looked pretty beaten-up to me; I would think it would be just a matter of time before their old, spare parts incrementally stopped working.
@brownie2794 My own take on why the conversion failed even though we heard the whirring blades is that the machinery is so old, it's pretty much hit-or-miss as to when or even if it works. The main cyberman tried to stop the Doctor from using his sonic screwdriver to activate the teleport to no effect. He and all of the rest of the cybermen looked pretty beaten-up to me; I would think it would be just a matter of time before their old, spare parts incrementally stopped working.
I would not like the tinfoil suits to return, but I would like the box like heads back! Or a modernised version of them. However, I am just delighted that the cybermats are back. 1st time since 1975! lol I do wish though now that the sonic screwdriver would stop being used all the time to and maybe make it malfunction again! It is sheer terrible lazy writing to keep using it as a magic wand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@diehippie9000 These are the classic era Cybermen. They're from Mondas, not alternate Earth. Granted, they're not using the older design, but even in the classic series, that design went through changes. All of them are really tacky, compared to what they can do now. The new design, but without the Cybus Industries logo, works much better. What makes them Mondas Cybermen is their story, but a tinfoil jumpsuit. The later would just make them silly.
@DarthVil they are not mondasian cybermen, they're still the cybrus cybermen. and there's no spoilers to confirm that these cybermen in this episode are the mondasian ones.
@liverpoolmatt87 - They've been buried for thousands of years, lack Cybus Industries logos on their chest plates, and they have cybermats. They don't need to have tinfoil jumpsuits to be from Mondas. I'd say that the details given are the only spoilers that you need, to confirm that they're the Mondasian Cybermen.
@DarthVil well I take that as your perception. but instincts tells me that they're not the mondasian ones, they're still the same cybus cybermen from the tennant era, only except they've managed to advance up in the world with their technology and growing numbers. Lumeric did construct them to be an efficient robotic race and that's what we're seeing right now. Seeing cyber ships is probably just the first sign of the cybus cybermen just growing, and seeing the cybermat as a 2nd sign.
@liverpoolmatt87 The complete lack of a Cybus Industries logo, the use of technology centuries more advanced than the Cybus Industries Cybermen (Pete's world) had, and the fact that they were buried for thousands of years (especially the later, but certainly both of the former points) leaves Me with little doubt that these are the Mondas Cybermen. Some people won't be satisfied, until they're back in tacky tinfoil jumpsuits. Let's not return to those!
@DarthVil lol they still are the cybus cybermen mate, like I said they're still evolving. According to the dr who wikipedia they've developed their knowledge overtime on space traveling and also development in time traveling of which they stole the technology from the daleks but they haven't perfected it yet. And that's under the pete's world cybermen category if you wish to know.
@DarthVil also just because they don't have the cybus logos on their chest doesnt mean they're the mondasian cybermen. that's just an exaggeration out of imagination. I'd say we'll just have to watch and see but I dont think they're mondasian ones.
@Mrblanchara2018 oops i must have misheard looks likea cracker of an episode i love the cybermen glad they are getting their own story with matt's doctor
