Turrican II was NOT included.
Along with several other timeless classics that really remained in the memory of the player for several years.
In that book 80% of all games were from the 2000's and over 100 from the year 2009 alone. Doesn't say speak of an insane bias for really anonymous modern games??
Any chance of seeing a longplay of 'Month Pythons Flying Circus' brilliant game with brilliant memories to go with it :-) just i can't see one anywhere of it, cheers!
Oh man! I remember maybe every single move in this awesome game. Cubex55, you miss so many treasures! ;-) Thanks for posting, really nice memories for beloved Turrican and best game music ever!
If you like this Game and want to play a remake of it so i recommend you to try out Poke 53280's Hurrican. It's a free game and worthy of the name equality to Turrican. It has even a fake cracktro in the beginning ;) I have nothing to do with the programmers nor the site but i hold it my duty to show you this jewel.
OK, i had this game when i was about 8 years old, i got upto the bit in the sapceship but at 49:28 my game always crashed. I recently downloaded the ROM and tried it with WinUAE and it does the exact same thing at the exact same place. I didnt even realise there was more to the game. What are you doing after you defeat the boss to make the game load and continue?
I know of a cracked version of T2 where you have to put in the second disk when screen flashes around this stagees you speak about.., maybe that's just your 'problem' ;). I have the original game that has only one disk (all Turrican games need originally just one 'extended' 880 KB Amiga Floppy disk, which is a very cool thing btw... :) ).
btw. this game needs a better quaity recording than in this video, the framerate in this particular video is just about 15 FPS I guess.. and it is too much compressed (artefacts). An Amiga game needs 50 or 60 FPS.
..I'm quite an 'Turrican Pro.', so maybe I'll record this games once more in the next time :-).
@dungeonseeker1uk This was a well known problem with the game. I returned my copy to WH Smiths several times and i eventually got one that worked. Used to drive me nuts!
@dungeonseeker1uk Sometimes this type of crap happens because the ROMs were made from bad copies of the game. I had similiar issues with Premiere when I played it on the Amiga and with its ROM version :(
It sounds like you've got a cracked 2 disk version. The 2 disk version i know splashes the screen with random colors. If it is so, insert the second disk and press the left mouse button.
Geiles Spiel gewesen hatte einen Amiga 500 und hab das früher gerne gespielt! Musik und Game perfekt abgestimmt! Level und Feuerkraft auch genial mit den Fazer und den Plasmaballs! ;)
First heard from him in the "Happy Computer" journal in the late 80s...there was a printed programm from him inside (yes, this was the time of such things :) ) with a music editor. You could easily produce very nice music....
@cubex55 German : Heisst das jetzt das ich auch mit WinUAE filmen kann ? Weil ich spiele auch manchmal Turrican auf WinUAE und deswegen hatte ich mir gedacht das ich mal vielleicht filmen sollte.
English : Does that mean I can make movies with WinUAE? Because I also play sometimes Turrican on WinUAE and so I thought maybe I should also times making movies. Again sorry for my bad English.
Played the demo of this endlessly when I was a boy. Loved the quotes he said when grabbing weapons and powerups; I always thought "multiple" sounded like "golf ball!"
I can't believe the guy who did the music for this managed to coax so much out of the Amiga's limited sound palette. The soundtrack is second to none in context with the games of the era!
When i was about 12, i used to spend hundreds of hours with this game:)) I loved the music, and the playability. Now i wish i still had my amiga:) Sadly after some time my second disc broke, and i wasn't able to play the levels after the fighter stage.
That was the way, oh Lord, what we have lost words cannot say and tears cannot show... Why had time to go on so fast, why... I want to be young again, and I want back the feelings I've almost forgotten... thats really something you can't buy with money... *cry*
The amiga will never die in the hearts of many people as long we remember all we have to do is when our kids play an amiga classic like turrican on a modern console or even ds etc is remind them where it orignated , this way we can preserve the amiga's proud history if it was not for the amiga we would not have classic games like this.

Never played this game, but the music is AMAZING. Favorited this just for that. I want to play this someday, looks like a fun game and it's got a GREAT soundtrack to jam to while playing.

The music up to that point seemed better too, and compared to the intro, the ending was dissapointing :(
Sorry to say i'm abit dissapointed with this upload, not because its a bad game, because it is truly awesomesauce!
But because the one who plays shoulda done alot more practise before doing a longplay, or recording a longplay, maybe just me who gets annoyed when he make such simple mistakes :/
It was the very first longplay i did as you can see in the description - and it was done without savestates, so if you want to see a much superior run watch Amiga Longplay 400 - my 2nd playthrough of this :)
I'd bet 3-3 (at least, i think the really fast ship stage was 3-3) would be a lot easier if you could control the ship with a mouse. IIRC there was a mouse for the C64, there probably would have been one for the Amiga too.)

I'd say the music contributed around 90% of this game's overall awesomeness.

Needed to press SPACE 1 + 3 + 2 and 2 times escape to have unlimited lifes.
Hope I remember right. :)

Grande gioco!!
Credo che dopo averci propinato l'ennesimo Resident Evil,Tekken,Tomb Raider,ci sia il bisogno di rispolverare questo grande gioco, anche in 2d!

Universal Soldier on the megadrive was just a cheap movie tie in but yeah was definately Turrican with redrawn graphics.

This is amazing. I've wondered for probably a decade what this game was and now I've just stumbled upon it.
I feel 6 again.

I'd bet 3-3 (at least, i think the really fast ship stage was 3-3) would be a lot easier if you could control the ship with a mouse. IIRC there was a mouse for the C64, there probably would have been one for the Amiga too.)
