  • @trudbol Oh I found your coney island baby video. Love it! This one and that one are my favorites so far. Though I wonder. How do you sing the way you do with base on that song? it's like you don't breathe

  • @Neowolf882 Glad you're enjoying Coney Island Baby, it was a fun project to make! I do breathe on the bass, I just do it when the others are singing so that you don't notice it. ;-)

  • He reminds me of Chris Barrie at the red dwarf kind of age

  • @MrLOLOL98 ?

  • @trudbol Look him up. In my mind you look like him in his early years

  • Thank goodness for Youtube. You are great and hope you become famous! Merci beaucoup, c'est vraiment trop bon.

  • @annlivingston Merci beaucoup ! N'hésite pas à partager quelques unes des mes vidéos a cappella avec tes amis, ça sera un pas dans cette direction. Bonnes fêtes de fin d'année ! ;-)

  • you are really great. what software do you use to make the videos?

also, i really want to see you singing i get around by the beach boys

  • @MrFAU Thank you! I used Audacity for the audio and Sony Vegas Pro for the video (the video effect is called "split screen", you'll find plenty of online tutorials).

As for the song request, I'll be happy to have a look at sheet music for TTBB a cappella if you can provide me with some.

In the meantime, please share this video on Facebook and let your friends know about my a cappella YouTube channel, I'd appreciate it! ;-)

  • ELEANOR RIGBY, I BEG YOU<3

  • @finlant Sure, it's a song I've been meaning to do. ;-)

  • @finlant OH MY GOD, YES

  • 0:00

    repeat button

  • @boundarkness ;-)

  • Sing Queen plz

  • @DziennikSzescienny It's really not my voicing, it's much too high for me. I would spend my time squeaking up there. I'm much more comfortable in lower registers. Sorry. ;-)

  • hey!! you are realy good!!! can you gift me the arrenged? XD i am from chile....congrats!!

  • @capetohorn I sell audio learning tracks. Please email me at jneel@free.fr if you are interested in my services.

  • @TheCBreazzy Thanks! Share my videos as often as you want! ;-)

  • great work!!! well done!!....been watching over and over....

  • @greekbastard8 Eukaristo po!i ;-)

  • your voice is beautiful

  • @allizbest Thank you! ;-)

  • Superior vocal skills! A perfectionist! Would love to hear you sing "Because" from The Beatles aswell!

  • @Onemanband87 Thank you! "Because" is on it's way (though it was a bit more difficult because the parts are really really high). Please share my video if you enjoyed it! ;-)

  • This is truly awesome sounding. I've watched all your videos. I do have some questions though. Is it easier or harder to harmonize with yourself? How many recordings of each part do you usually do? The end result is always quite clean. I love to hear singers on you tube that are honestly good and any singer can recognize how good you are.

  • @TehExcaliber415 Thanks! It's a very different process to harmonize with yourself through multiple layers of recordings: staying in tune is more difficult because it's unnatural to hear sound through headphones, but the fact it's always my voice makes it easier to hide imperfections in the mix. I also have more control over the final product (dynamics, vowel quality, tone quality...). I'm glad you enjoy my work. Feel free to share my videos as often as you like! ;-)

  • @trudbol what program do you use??? :)

  • @dake222 Audacity and Sony Vegas Pro. I used to have an F.A.Q. list on my channel, but with the new YouTube layout it's gone. Bah, so much for reading, welcome to the age of TV...

  • I have watched all of your awesome videos multiple times and I finally have to ask....in which order to you record first to last? I would imagine that you would record the lead role first and then maybe the baritone? I would love to know.

  • @ludoweez Thanks! Yes, I record the lead first, completely a cappella. I then listen to my recording over and over until I memorize the dynamics. I then sing bass, baritone and tenor usually in that order, and in one recording session. So typically the lead is recorded one day an the other three voices on another. ;-)

  • @trudbol Sweet! Thank you for your quick reply. It's very kind of you to take the time to get back to us on our questions. I have a great amount of respect for you and your talent. Keep up the excellent work!.........on a side note, your English is excellent.

  • @ludoweez Thanks! I speak English as well, having lived in the US as a kid. ;-)

  • Great! (Though I think that I like the older classics in your style)

  • You guys are incredible! I just love all your arrangements! Keep up the great work. You've made my morning. Thanks.

  • @victorohashi Haha, thanks! But it's just me singing all the parts here: Trudbol is a one man quartet. ;-)

  • There is nothing I don't like about this, he even looks like a bit like Lennon.

  • @edbad85 LOL and thanks. ;-)

  • It brings me memories of those Welsh male choirs that brought some british breeze through youtube realms.

I know that this should sound like "American Barbershop" but I can't help thinking of it as British polyphony... I listened to King's Singers for too much time :D

  • like it more than the original version :)

  • @ThomasvBogaert Wow, thanks! ;-)

PS: Feel free to share my video with friends too.

  • Speechless.

  • @LilShorty0913 I hope that's a good thing! ;-)

  • @trudbol Of course it is... you have literally swiped me off my feet! :D <3

  • Wow. This is amazing man.

  • @L337Zombie Thanks! Share my video if you liked it! ;-)

  • i know this guy is really talented, but i feel like this arrangement just doesn't have any emotion...

  • Comment removed

  • @TheBlueSpirit8 don't get me wrong, i absolutely love the song. i only meant that arrangement/chord voicing of this version really doesn't do it for me.

  • @kevron211 Thanks for your honest opinion, I can totally understand it and take no offense. It's actually nice to get negative feedback, it shows what needs work. ;-)

Perhaps your advice could be a bit more pragmatic, so that I would know what it is I can do. And keep in mind that I sang all the tracks one by one without hearing the whole until the very last minute, so what you hear isn't what I hear when I make it. ;-)

  • @trudbol Specifically what I didn't really like about the arrangement was the way that every part mimicked the lead's rhythm during the chorus, like at 0:33. There was also a very rich, dark quality to the tone that didn't evoke "Beatles" or "Barbershop" to me. One final thing I would ask is what kind of software you used to edit the audio, because at times the natural beauty of your voice seemed obstructed by it. Thanks for not taking offense because I mean none, these are just my preferences.

  • @kevron211 I thought I had replied to your last comment, my bad. The darker tone felt appropriate for a nostalgic song like this one, I felt the Beatles on the contrary were a bit light in their version. Darkness and deepness in the voice is an "old school" barbershop quality, when the singers were lyrically trained and didn't scream like they often do nowadays. Again, my goal isn't to reproduce the Beatles song as they did it, it's to make it my own. But anyhow point taken, can't win'em all! ;)

  • @trudbol the most decent barbershop quartet that i've ever listen to,..i've been searching for a decent one,but this? this is grand! u've made my day,..well done,.

  • @TheBlueSpirit8 Thank you very much! Do share my video with friends if you enjoyed it. You can also show your support for my work by making a donation (link in the video description) or by getting this song on iTunes. ;-)

  • I already loved all of your music, but the fact you changed this song into a Quartet is absolutely amazing to me. Thank you.

  • Julien, I always want to ask, why you not try sing some southern gospel song? I think your voice is perfect for those songs (example: Heavenly Parade or Wondeful Grace of Jesus) It's just an idea. Greating from Hungary.

(P.S: Sorry for my bad english)

  • @wakkowarer9007 Sure, I'd be happy to give it a try. I'd need sheet music for TTBB a cappella, if you can provide me with that. ;-)

  • @trudbol sorry Julien, I just have the lyrics and the original version, i just came up with the idea. I always try to find the sheet music of these songs, and I have no idea where can i find it.

  • Il n'y a rien à faire j'ai écouté plein d'autres qui font le même genre, mais j'aime trop ton timbre !

  • @simoncusonnet Merci, ça fait plaisir ! ;-)

  • Okay. Semi-silly comment, but I love watching your eyebrows on your bass - they follow the notes. :P

  • @shaldana I use the videos I recorded to sing the other parts, and every visual cue is helpful. Body movements tell me when to come in and sing. It's something one does very naturally in a choir but needs to force a little when singing alone. ;-)

  • Really Great! But nothing compares to the Beatles! But very good job!!

  • Something about your songs remind me of Futurama...

  • @stevoper59 Great. ;-) And if you can share my video with friends, that would be even better. I'd love to be able to take this a cappella adventure a step further, and it's through networking that it'll happen. ;-)

  • WOW, that was truly origional. I really like the beatles and your rendition was unique, very enjoyable and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you very much for sharing your talent

  • @norobotica Thank you, I'm delighted you enjoyed my video. Share it with friends and tell them to visit my channel, I'd appreciate the support .;-)

  • I'm such a great Beatles fan and this cover is amazing!! :)

  • @BeckyLovesCookies Thanks! ;-)

  • Your videos are the BEST part of youtube, and, besides that, you respond to every comment. You, M. Neel, are a fantastic musician, and a true gentleman.

  • @fgallen42 Wow, thanks for the kind words. It's getting harder and harder to respond to everyone, but I guess that's a good sign, eh? It's nice to read comments like yours, when people understand and appreciate the investment. I hope you're sharing my videos with friends! ;-)

  • You know, it's incredible how you get everything synced up SO perfectly! This goes for the starts and stops in phrases as well. I notice that I still have to improve in this area ha. You are truly amazing, so please don't let anyone tell you different my friend! Those who dislike this are haters ;)

  • @SugarbabyLA Thank you Miss Meyers! ;-p

I worked hard on this one, particularly on memorizing the lead dynamics to get the sync in place. I'm glad you appreciate these "little things" most people assume to be normal.

  • More Beatles!

  • @jankoski84 Coming up (at least two songs)! Please share this video with your buddies in the meantime and help me spread the word! ;-)

  • @trudbol I really hope one of those two songs is 'Because' from Abbey Road. It would be perfect for the way you sing! Great cover by the way

  • I'm always amazed how powerful your voice sounds! Love your work man, please keep it up!

  • @Teeg82 Thank you, I'm delighted you enjoyed this video. I spent quite some time practicing this one, so I'm glad it shows in the final product. ;-)

Do share my video with your friends if you enjoyed it, it would be great to see my work take off a bit!

  • @trudbol For sure, Trudbol, I will!

  • Absolutely wonderful <3

  • @hdhsbryson Thank you! I'd appreciate it if you shared my video with friends and told them about my music. ;-)

  • hoo, it's been a while. Excellent arrangement; really, REALLY damn good, man. We're starting a barbershop in my school. I'll definitely be suggesting this!

    Thanks as always!

  • Ok. That was fucking incredible.

  • @IC8888 Thanks! ;-)

  • Love it! You look a bit like John in this video...or maybe I´m just having a nostalgic flashback.

  • a capella is a beautiful thing

  • @MiguelGomes95 My favorite music ;-)

  • Superbe, j'adore :)

  • @Logales Merci ! ;-)

  • Lol....you even look like a young John Lennon (rip)....

  • Por Dios, Lennon y Harrison deben estar revolcándose en su tumba!!!!!

  • great job man, this song is great and your work in this version is awesome

  • @volk667 Thank you! ;-)

  • waaaaoo man i love it, you're great !!

  • @eliramone12 Thanks! More A Cappella on my channel. ;-)

  • There is no-one who understands better than Julien how to make simple harmonies touch the heart. :)

  • It's nice to hear song true barbershop not just a cappella. Good stuff.

  • If you could just click on each one of the 4 voices and listen it alone it would be the greatest thing on this world. Maybe people like me could learn something, because reading "baritone, lead, bass and tenor" doesn't really help. My ears are not good enough.

And, of course, a brilliant job, like always.

  • @0Pretender0 If you are interested in learning the song, I sell audio learning tracks for all the songs I performed on my YouTube channel, including this one. My learning tracks contain the 4 separate tracks for tenor / lead / baritone / bass + full harmony + part-predominant mixes + part-missing mixes. Just email me at jneel@free.fr and I'll give you the details. Cheers ;-)

  • Joli travail à capella , bass baryton et ténor, je m'y amuse parfois mais les voix ne reviennent que doucement , au plaisir de ta visite.

  • Happy birthday! sent by kartiv2!

  • @xxktxx007007 Thanks! As a birthday present, could you give me 10 votes today in the talent contest I'm participating in (link in the video description)? That would be great! ;-)

  • How do write the parts?

  • you sir,are simply amazing, ive listened to this song so many times, but its never given me this many goosebumps, tanks for keeping the classics nice and strong :)

  • @MrBradleighB Thanks! Your vote is appreciated (if you're not voting already). My videos are competing in a talent contest and you can help me with my craft by voting daily (link in the video description). Cheers ;-)

  • Omigod, I am so in love with this. How adorable is this guy?

Hiring an a cappella group to do our wedding ceremony music...shouldn't have listened to this first because now he's set the bar. lol

  • @Dselvagg Thanks! I make custom videos for your wedding, if you are interested. ;-) Just drop me a line at jneel@free.fr

  • Omg!!! My select choir did this song 2 years ago...made me cry it brought back so many good memories :-) C'est magnifique!

  • @trudbol lol...already do everyday! Good luck!!! :-)

  • @mickey05491 Haha, didn't know, thanks! ;-)

  • Magnifique ! Comme je t'avais dit, il y a deux styles que j'adore : les Beatles et la musique vocalement harmonisée. C'est parfait ce que tu as fait avec In my life. Bravo !

  • @alysonvilela Merci ! Si tu as un moment, peux-tu voter pour moi ? Le lien est dans la description de cette vidéo. Merci pour ton soutien !

  • What the heaven!!! excellent harmonies!!! I wonder really if John's voice were Baritone too...

  • @giovampire Thanks! Please take a moment and vote for me in the talent contest I'm participating in (link in the video description). Thanks! ;-)
