That was wonderful. You have a great talent and and your doing a awesome job.I would love to hear you sing Honey Pie by the Beatles from the white album. =)
@trudbol Oh I found your coney island baby video. Love it! This one and that one are my favorites so far. Though I wonder. How do you sing the way you do with base on that song? it's like you don't breathe
@Neowolf882 Glad you're enjoying Coney Island Baby, it was a fun project to make! I do breathe on the bass, I just do it when the others are singing so that you don't notice it. ;-)
@trudbol I think he's saying you sound a little bit like Kermit the Frog from Sesame Street. I'm inclined to agree with him, but it's still a great video. Keep it up!
@annlivingston Merci beaucoup ! N'hésite pas à partager quelques unes des mes vidéos a cappella avec tes amis, ça sera un pas dans cette direction. Bonnes fêtes de fin d'année ! ;-)
@MrFAU Thank you! I used Audacity for the audio and Sony Vegas Pro for the video (the video effect is called "split screen", you'll find plenty of online tutorials).
As for the song request, I'll be happy to have a look at sheet music for TTBB a cappella if you can provide me with some.
In the meantime, please share this video on Facebook and let your friends know about my a cappella YouTube channel, I'd appreciate it! ;-)
@DziennikSzescienny It's really not my voicing, it's much too high for me. I would spend my time squeaking up there. I'm much more comfortable in lower registers. Sorry. ;-)
@Onemanband87 Thank you! "Because" is on it's way (though it was a bit more difficult because the parts are really really high). Please share my video if you enjoyed it! ;-)
This is truly awesome sounding. I've watched all your videos. I do have some questions though. Is it easier or harder to harmonize with yourself? How many recordings of each part do you usually do? The end result is always quite clean. I love to hear singers on you tube that are honestly good and any singer can recognize how good you are.
@TehExcaliber415 Thanks! It's a very different process to harmonize with yourself through multiple layers of recordings: staying in tune is more difficult because it's unnatural to hear sound through headphones, but the fact it's always my voice makes it easier to hide imperfections in the mix. I also have more control over the final product (dynamics, vowel quality, tone quality...). I'm glad you enjoy my work. Feel free to share my videos as often as you like! ;-)
@dake222 Audacity and Sony Vegas Pro. I used to have an F.A.Q. list on my channel, but with the new YouTube layout it's gone. Bah, so much for reading, welcome to the age of TV...
I have watched all of your awesome videos multiple times and I finally have to ask....in which order to you record first to last? I would imagine that you would record the lead role first and then maybe the baritone? I would love to know.
@ludoweez Thanks! Yes, I record the lead first, completely a cappella. I then listen to my recording over and over until I memorize the dynamics. I then sing bass, baritone and tenor usually in that order, and in one recording session. So typically the lead is recorded one day an the other three voices on another. ;-)
@trudbol Sweet! Thank you for your quick reply. It's very kind of you to take the time to get back to us on our questions. I have a great amount of respect for you and your talent. Keep up the excellent work!.........on a side note, your English is excellent.
It brings me memories of those Welsh male choirs that brought some british breeze through youtube realms.
I know that this should sound like "American Barbershop" but I can't help thinking of it as British polyphony... I listened to King's Singers for too much time :D
@TheBlueSpirit8 don't get me wrong, i absolutely love the song. i only meant that arrangement/chord voicing of this version really doesn't do it for me.
@kevron211 Thanks for your honest opinion, I can totally understand it and take no offense. It's actually nice to get negative feedback, it shows what needs work. ;-)
Perhaps your advice could be a bit more pragmatic, so that I would know what it is I can do. And keep in mind that I sang all the tracks one by one without hearing the whole until the very last minute, so what you hear isn't what I hear when I make it. ;-)
@trudbol Specifically what I didn't really like about the arrangement was the way that every part mimicked the lead's rhythm during the chorus, like at 0:33. There was also a very rich, dark quality to the tone that didn't evoke "Beatles" or "Barbershop" to me. One final thing I would ask is what kind of software you used to edit the audio, because at times the natural beauty of your voice seemed obstructed by it. Thanks for not taking offense because I mean none, these are just my preferences.
@kevron211 I thought I had replied to your last comment, my bad. The darker tone felt appropriate for a nostalgic song like this one, I felt the Beatles on the contrary were a bit light in their version. Darkness and deepness in the voice is an "old school" barbershop quality, when the singers were lyrically trained and didn't scream like they often do nowadays. Again, my goal isn't to reproduce the Beatles song as they did it, it's to make it my own. But anyhow point taken, can't win'em all! ;)
@trudbol the most decent barbershop quartet that i've ever listen to,..i've been searching for a decent one,but this? this is grand! u've made my day,..well done,.
@TheBlueSpirit8 Thank you very much! Do share my video with friends if you enjoyed it. You can also show your support for my work by making a donation (link in the video description) or by getting this song on iTunes. ;-)
Julien, I always want to ask, why you not try sing some southern gospel song? I think your voice is perfect for those songs (example: Heavenly Parade or Wondeful Grace of Jesus) It's just an idea. Greating from Hungary.
@trudbol sorry Julien, I just have the lyrics and the original version, i just came up with the idea. I always try to find the sheet music of these songs, and I have no idea where can i find it.
@shaldana I use the videos I recorded to sing the other parts, and every visual cue is helpful. Body movements tell me when to come in and sing. It's something one does very naturally in a choir but needs to force a little when singing alone. ;-)
@stevoper59 Great. ;-) And if you can share my video with friends, that would be even better. I'd love to be able to take this a cappella adventure a step further, and it's through networking that it'll happen. ;-)

You know, it's incredible how you get everything synced up SO perfectly! This goes for the starts and stops in phrases as well. I notice that I still have to improve in this area ha. You are truly amazing, so please don't let anyone tell you different my friend! Those who dislike this are haters ;)
I worked hard on this one, particularly on memorizing the lead dynamics to get the sync in place. I'm glad you appreciate these "little things" most people assume to be normal.
hoo, it's been a while. Excellent arrangement; really, REALLY damn good, man. We're starting a barbershop in my school. I'll definitely be suggesting this!
If you could just click on each one of the 4 voices and listen it alone it would be the greatest thing on this world. Maybe people like me could learn something, because reading "baritone, lead, bass and tenor" doesn't really help. My ears are not good enough.

@0Pretender0 If you are interested in learning the song, I sell audio learning tracks for all the songs I performed on my YouTube channel, including this one. My learning tracks contain the 4 separate tracks for tenor / lead / baritone / bass + full harmony + part-predominant mixes + part-missing mixes. Just email me at jneel@free.fr and I'll give you the details. Cheers ;-)

Bravo !
