She showed him that it was ok to live despite his past; then they took that from him. Finally, he was redeemed by saving her life (and giving up his own), and that made it ok for him to let go of his quest for redemption. Great plot, wonderful acting (by the entire cast), and I love the bond between Dakota and Denzel - a truly gripping movie, and incredible soundtrack. Denzel is just beyond reproach in almost all of his characters, and this was no exception.

Best Movie and Best Soundtrack I ever seen in a movie. Man On Fire was a remake.The original came out in the early 80's which was set in France. But this is so much better being set in Mexico with Denzel and Dakota.

The song 'Blue Bayou' is a very special song to me. After my boyfriend died in a motorcycle accident in January 2004, he kept sending this song to me, and it became a part of him. I never understood why he picked this particular song until I finally saw the movie 'Man on Fire.' The ending scene answered all my questions. I miss you Jeremy!!
