It's a stunt school in Canada. There's a similar thing that was making a run in videos. It's usually two guys playing a game of tag through a city where they do all sorts of acrobatic moves like flipping off roofs, wall jumping between two buildings. All sorts of the things you'd see in a Jackie Chan movie.

Hmm martial arts? Form gymnastics maybe but not really a martial art. They even use the blue spring floor that gymnasts use to get more height from jumps. Back flips back pikes etc, are really for show only.

Most good martial arts have some gymnastics involved. Besides its good to know, it helps with agility and balance. I've studied Kodenkan Jiujitsu for 6 years in Hawaii and we cleaned up at every national kata tourney we went to. Mainly because we went up against Rexkwondo type american rejects who were about as graceful as the school retard at the high school dance.

I have respect for what they can do. But I am tired of seeing a lot of gymnastics in kata's. But that is my preference. I prefer the traditional forms. Going to a martial arts tournament and seeing these kata's with back flips and handsprings are just goofy.

Its all in good showmanship is all. I agree to the point of seeing bo staff competitions with emphasis on "flair" instead of defense, and attack. But I have to admit I like seeing it, even if I can point out its flaws, like a sideline quarterback.

Yeah, I mean I work for a martial arts studio. I have co workers who all they do is open forms. Its fun to watch. and I wanna learn to free run/parkour so stuff like this is fun to do. I just know a lot of people who think gymnastics is what makes you a good martial artist unfortunately.

I'm also 32, been studying martial arts for 16 years, have belts in 3 different styles and while I respect the talent involved. This video is still almost entirely gymnastics and Capoeira, while very cool looking, remains a dance.

Why would you say something as stupid as that? It's not something ever meant for the ring it for show. They also do work as stuntmen in films and commercials.

If you knew any of the people involved you would know that they are all accomplished Martial artist and instructors In the Toronto area in various forms such as Karate, Teakwood, Kung-Fu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Krav-Maga, Wushu, There is a lot more to people then just what you see in a video. What are your accomplishments?

That video was almost entirely gymnastics with a handful of kicks thrown in. Capoeira is a dance, not a viable martial art and it really isn't anywhere to be found in this gymnastics video. Capoeira is a very cool looking style no doubt, but nevertheless, it is a no contact dance.

@unrealtrip capoeira as it was conceived is a martial art disguised as a dance so that the slave masters didnt know the slaves were training for combat.. in a real fight, the master simply doesnt use the dance elements, the "ginga" goes out leaving only the kicks, grabs and twists, wich are still very effective. real capoeira as it is taught in brazil is absolutely full contact during training with other graduated students.
