It wouldn't be a blocking foul once the defender has BOTH his feet PLANTED and set OUTSIDE the restricted area (which is the semicircle under the basket), and the lanky power forward wimp that was supposed to defend Griffin had a chance for that position, but was very slow REACTING and GETTING THERE IN TIME, which makes me certain, without seeing any of his matches, judging by his lack of determination and casual stroll afterwards, that he is a wimp.
@asc3asc Okay, got your point . I do not want to argue anymore about this matter as frankly I am pretty tired of researching stuff to type. I agree with you that he may(may not depends on what point you looking at;Cause I for one won't take a charge from a 6'10/8 guy.Even if I am not ASIAN) [I can't really control where I get born too.] be a wimp. Well the NBA has become less on defensive plays and more on offensive ones.
So. Good Dialectical(lol?) argument. Well played, Sir.
@hxnncht IMO any defender like the one at 0:06 who, having a solid defensive position, being able to take the charge, abandons it at the sight of an incoming dunker, is a PIECE OF SHIT, unworthy of playing basketball at a professional level
@asc3asc There is an unwritten rule of basketball, that being if the person is in the air it won't be counted as a charge. More like the person taking the charge will be called for blocking.
@Agraffyx watch carefully, at precisely 0:07, the defender makes the sideways evasive maneuver before Griffin had left the ground. Now if you have ever played professional basketball, or ever watched the likes of Udonis Haslem,Glen "Big Baby" Davis,or even Derek Fisher, you know they would have sacrificed their bodies to get the charge, unlike this nameless piece of shit. And even today, many less resounding NBA players get the charge on Griffin as he constantly tries to force his way to the cup.
@asc3asc Look closely at 0:06 BEFORE he move sideways his right feet is already off the ground. I have not played professional basketball, but as a question, do you? I know of many plays where nba players have sacrificed their bodies but still get called for the block. Anyway NBA Refs call the game, they would have probably called blocking on the nameless dude because griffin is a star.
@Agraffyx the defender had a solid defensive position with both his feet SET OUTSIDE the restricted area, before Griffin had left the ground. He chose to abandon it due to being a WIMP, a COWARD, and simply WEAK.
What the subsequent call WOULD HAVE BEEN is irrelevant, the attitude IS.
@Agraffyx dude, you're from Singapore, right? That makes sense now, nobody would expect YOU to take the charge on Griffin, nor on anybody else.
Now please, before I start saying any more personal things, search Youtube for "blake griffin monster dunk on gortat that didn't count" watch?v=xQ34Xi75qmE and UNDERSTAND what a good defender does. It sure explains why Gortat is signed in the NBA, whereas the nameless piece of shit isn't.
@asc3asc Dude, I would not expect a guy who dosen't have any balls to put the country your from to take a charge. Anyway, don't make this a race argument because, asians can be tall to. E.g.: Yao Ming.
Now before you find something to say about my race and check my profile out more here:/watch?v=Ea7wrtXUKHU Jason Richardson clearly had his feet set way before Shannon Brown was anywhere near the paint. But brown jumped and tried to dunk over him, and guess what? Blocking foul.
@Agraffyx Now that is where due to enthusiasm you mix things up, which is atypical for an Asian guy, you're not 100% Asian are you?
What we have there is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PLAY: we have AN AMAZING DEFENDER, J Rich, HOLDING HIS GROUND trying to TAKE A CHARGE. Unfortunately for him, Shannon Brown's leaping ability is such that he would have completely jumped over him.At that point, J Rich makes yet another GREAT DEFENSIVE PLAY,bumping SB in mid air,DENYING THE DUNK and sending SB to the line.
@asc3asc Stop playing with the race and yes I am a 100% Asian.
I would say that Griffin has a good vertical too, not shown in this video but you might find one somewhere. And the end result is still the same, he gets called for a blocking even if intentional as what you said bumping Shannon in mid air. Which brings me back to my point. That when a person is in the air he won't get called for a charge. Being called for a charge in mid-air happens very rarely, IMO.
@Agraffyx mate, you are mixing things up, bringing up 50/50 referee calls, and missing the point I made on this video.
In both my example and yours, we have two EXCELLENT DEFENDERS, both making SOLID DEFENSIVE PLAYS for their team, WILLING TO TAKE THE CHARGE with or without a favorable referee call, whereas in this video we see NONE OF THAT. And, in case you were wondering why this guy is NOT in the NBA, now you know. THIS IS THE POINT.
Please acknowledge this so I can ask you something else.
@asc3asc Okay,I get your point. He ain't in the NBA , probably in the D-league or something. But truth be told, you would be scared too if you saw a 6 ft 8 charging at you.
@Agraffyx concerning the "unwritten" rule, suppose there is a gifted, enlightened individual from Singapore, a flying Buddha, and he somehow agrees to be signed into the NBA, despite his successful career with the Globetrotters, since he can make a dunk from the 3 point line with ease, should the opposing team not disturb his mid-air flight, and make room for the Venerable One all the way to the basket?
@asc3asc As I have said, can you bring your racism that you have issues keeping in check and shove it somewhere the sun don't shine? And concerning your issue, if he could dunk from the 3 point line with easy you would rather stay out of the way then risk a 3 point play now would you? And this is what I ASSUMEwas going through the (OMG NOT IN NBA PLAYER;Bro get over it)'s mind. As the pheonix are if you can see winning and he did not want to lose the lead.
@Agraffyx friend, I'm not being racist but dialectical, which is what Socrates and Buddha did for fun.
You seem to defend your points pretty well, but I had to take you to the extreme of the flying Buddha to make you understand there is no such thing as a free dunk in the NBA, no matter how athletic one is. There is, however, a REAL rule stating that a mid-air player has a right to a landing spot, whether he is dunking or simply making a jump shot, and no opposing player may occupy that spot.
@asc3asc Dialectical, Okay but you could have used a better analogy then bringing religion on the line. I didn't make fun of your religion (probably because I don't even know where you are from) if you have noticed.
Well there are the free dunks in the all star game, and I have not read ALL of the rules in the NBA so forgive me. But coming from the rule you shown wouldn't it be a blocking foul if he took the charge? (Considering they are so near each other)
hey guys! im just starting out on youtube and i could really use some views. if you like basketball trick shots check my videos out and help a brother in need!!! (:

I don't know why people always dwell on the negative aspects of people's lives. I prefer to be positive free thinker, therefore I say he is half-white.
the clippers are really good, they just started off on the wrong foot(1-13). As a basketball fan in general, i look at the clippers and hope that nothing goes wrong for them. Blake griffin might be the best thing thats happened for basketball in los angeles since Kobe first hit the scene.
whereisbasketball I mean if even I, ericklinds95 am able to dunk, perhaps anybody can, I'm just 5ft 7inches tall no lie. Pretty much just follow a workout course such as the one over at "50inch vertical (dot) com", it will boost your individual jump and your basketball talent.
