It's disappointing to see that in 2011 this is an issue for Xbox 360 gamers. On the PlayStation 3 we don't get a copy game data to hard drive option but we don't really need it as blu-ray discs are very scratch resistant and scratches just really are not an issue with that system.

@SevenBodies3 Yes. The disc is still necessary for verification, but the game actually runs from the HDD so it doesn't matter if the disc is scratched.

:O so If I get it right.. When you buy the game you insert the Disc and Press Y and then click install Game. Then You dont need the disc anymore because all the files are on the Xbox? if yes. You can Buy a game then Instal It. Bring it back to the store to Trade it in for another game?! That will be fkin funny XD

@1432King Not true. Some PS3 games install small bits of game data when you first put the disc in. But the game is absolutely not installed to HDD. If you look at the game data menu, the files are tiny. Unfortunately, this isn't possible on the PS3. I wish it was.

@1432King Not sure how I was being a smartass, but OK. Doesn't change the fact that the PS3 doesn't have the ability to install games to the HDD. Even though small bits are saved as game data, it still runs off the disc. It's not even close to the same thing. Again, I wish it were possible, but it's not.

Well, I've been knowing about this but still a good tip. I would recommend it as well. Same as you, I've never gotten the Red Ring of Death, well.. not officially anyway. And we play the 360 all the time. It does run much quieter, smoother and it's really a great thing. I love having games installed. I don't install all my games, since it takes up too much space. Just the ones I use the most. CoD4, Mw2, Halo: Reach, Far Cry 2, Fifa World Cup South Africa 2010, blah blah blah.
