This is among boorman's and Marvin's best work Later Boorman would explore the darker side of humanity in his oscar nominated Deliverance. Marvin was a thinking mans action hero.

So much more like Parker than the Mel Gibson version; Marvin is so completely the utterly amoral bastard- a guy you could believe torturing someone for information like the character in the books- yet so charismatic you can't help rooting for him.
