Yes I have heard of stuff like that. On Aug.4,2008 when a derecho hit Illinois and Indiana they issued a T-storm Watch PDS because of the extreme probability of destructive winds. There was a lot of destruction that day.

My area is under that watch, too! Let's hope that we don't get any tornado warnings.
