  • Black OurStory Month 2012!!1

  • I love this version better than the album version.

    Listen to that B A S S

  • i believe that this song still has relevance today's society in every matter look at the symbolism for don't tread on when the woman passes the snake. we have to learn spread the message we have to stop the tyranny in the U.S.A.

  • STR8 CLASSIC

  • Never have I seen someone point out the failings of my and many other school systems this well.

  • AWESOME! Love this cut! Thanks for postin'. This is classic HIP HOP!

  • 1.03 - 1.16 justice in this world so beautiful and indescribable short

  • 4.21 - 4.27 police patrols :)

  • I think the school system need to teach more about african history. Cuz I dont relate too "American History" the only think they say about black History is Slavery and The Civil Rights Movement. They Dont teach us that they change the bible before blacks were able to read it or how Blacks original religion was Islam and Jewish. Or that blacks were the frist to us science, math, or electricity was use by black way before Benjamin Franklin discovered it. Thats y sum blacks dont wanna go to school

  • I think the problem lies with these stations and tv outlets. If they wanted us to hear the concious/lyrical/message rap then it would be put on radio..period! Now days you have to go search for it. No ones forcing people to listen to Waka Flocka? Do your research if you want to hear GOOD music, stop being lazy!

  • Isn't that Kanye at 0:32 ?

  • @raudonas21 Kanye wishes he was down with the NY Hiphop scene in the 80's.

  • @raudonas21

You must be special or something so I will leave that alone. Kanye? smh, oh man.

  • Great lyrics, great beats from farther than imagination (Freedom).

  • Favorite hip hop video of all time. Really encompasses the true potential of hip hop for politically/consciously opening the eyes and minds of the people of all colors.

  • Rapper,producer,teacher and of course a great person...KRS-ONE!!!

  • Hip-hop culture completely changed; the music don't fixate to the bboy scene anymore (or as much), respect and talk about hardship isn't there, the beats are slowed down to crap. No soul these days.

  • Bring this HIP HOP back!!!!!!!!

  • TEACH TO ALLLLL THESES BABIES THAT THE BLACKMAN IS GOD

  • This is back when rap music made me feel proud to be black. Now all these young brothas are ignorant and dumb, fitting the description of a black man in America.

  • no chains,no nice cars and booty shaking . strictly knowledge here

  • we need this in school lol

  • I want to sincerely thank cats like KRS, P.E, Rakim and all the other greats of the late-80s. They were the ones that legitimized rap as a serious musical art form, and cultural force, thru the power and brilliance of their music. Up until this point, hip hip was considered a disco like fad, with its focus on party themes and hip-to-hippy-hip-hop type aesthetic. Its disturbing that the culture disrespects its veterans so routinely. Without cats like KRS, there would be no hip hop. Thats real

  • @flipgood89 man i wish i was around in the 80s lol

  • @LEZTHEGOON ....haha. no doubt! State of mind, baby. Keep bumpin' the classic shit, man.

  • @justice4aiyana,,,,,,,simply kill yourself!!!

  • KRS One loses me when quotes fairy tale bible verses. But, he too, must learn.

  • @justice4aiyana no, you must learn that there are factual historical figures and events in that bible that are mixed with fictional characters and stories. you just have to do your research to separate fact from fiction. the person referred to as "Shem" in the bible was an actual person.

  • when one doesn't know about the other ones culture, ignorence swoops down like a vulture......!!!!

  • This is the truth right here, family.

  • The best rap of all time.

  • YO, this man should be teaching our children in school..WE need more of this. THis is the real reason for HIP HOP, the last voice of the people and the gospel.

  • KRS1 was so far ahead of his time.

  • Now this is my type of beat haha!!

  • I LOVE THIS MESSAGE!

  • one love

  • The Real!

    -G

  • Hey, here's an idea, read a book; it still works.

  • We need more rappers like him today, NO MORE GUCCI MANES,NO MORE LIL' WAYNES WE NEED MORE KRS-ONES

  • 2 people must learn.

  • @ 3:06 "We're just walking around brainwashed." That shit is so true thanks to corporations that have taken over our radio stations and entertainment programs.

  • KRS ONE spits more knowledge in this song than most assembly line rapper/hustler/thugs today do in a whole album.

It's like positivity in hiphop is outlawed and only the most vile, negative stereotypes, lyrics, images get mainstream appeal- why is that?

  • @IceManLikeGervin Because this is music from a POOR RIGTHEOUS TEACHER!!!

The industry you talk about is owned by ILLUMINATI...

and he's actually warning us for that crap...

    YOU MUST LEARN...

  • @ScaryHairyJerry

The Power Elite have no soul thus the mainstream hiphop aka hippop music is soulless and full of sin under the guise of artistical expressional lies.

Too bad KRS ONE apparently has sold out- throwing up the baphomet aka devil horns when he rhymed the word Lord on BET's Rap Awards Show Cipher.smh The BPD catalogue is still the sure shot!

  • No disrespect to others but I AM PROUD TO BE A BLACK MAN! They tried to enslave us,couldn't do it! They tried to block us out with unlawful "laws",couldn't do it. They tried to murder us,couldn't do it. They tried to keep us dumb...only if we CHOOSE to be. Then if bring that shit up they make it seem as if we're "whinning" yet it's true history! They can fly flags and go on and on about a war they didn't fight, but I can't say "slavery"? "Heritage Not Hate"....BLACK PRIDE!

  • @panamaniak

It depresses me when other white's still act like they're living in old days where laws were corrupt and "morality" was clearly misunderstood. Anglo, African, Mexican, Asian...it shouldn't matter. We're all intelligent humans and should be lifting each other up. Glad to see you proud man. Stay strong. Stay proud.

  • @fact0is0fear spoken like a self hating white guy. Get your own history and stop telling lies

  • @SuperWileycat Forget this azzwipe fam! He's just like the other White bigots on here(not the cool White people) I notice that most of them say fucked up shit about Blacks then you check out their channel and find Snoop Dog or 50 Cent! Lol! This azzwipe has Bob Marley, lol! Make up your mind dude! LMBAO.....AGAIN!

  • genesis chapter eleven verse ten

  • @howboutsome Genesis 14 verse "13" Abraham steps on the scene being a descendent of Shem whis is a fact, means Abraham to was black.

  • BDP -- rockin the SP-1200 all day...

  • eli whitney was white

  • Yep,lets keep em DUMB! Can't speak for others but I notice that back in the day MCs were ALWAYS trying to prove how intelligent they were. Nowadays it's "cool" to be dumb!~

  • @panamaniak wow bro, ur exactly right...

  • i like!

  • Real hip-hop. KRS One actually rapped about something. This is when hip-hop actually had quality.

  • @diehardBULLSfan hip hop still has quality you just lookin in the wrong places .

  • finally

  • I can't believe this video has only 9,771 views!

  • respect

  • I admit that white people were extremely oppressive, but that doesn't mean i was a slave holder. dont judge me for something someone who had the same skin color as me did in the past. learn from white peoples' mistakes and be the better race. the name calling on this comment page is just as pety as a white man from the 60s calling a black man a nigger. black people in the future will see this shit and be just as ashamed as i am of white people in the past. grow up.

  • EACH ONE TEACH ONE!

  • One of the Greatest Videos Ever

  • @tstone1700 one of the best fucking hip hop tunes ever!!

  • Blast Master!

  • This is why KRS-ONE is a lyrical God to everyone in HIP HOP all over planet earth. Why u think they call him BLASTMASTER! All young black Americans learned from his pen and paper back in 1988! And now in 2010 YA"LL MUST LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This joint is doper than dope!!!

  • ? It's to do with Malcom X, 'You can't hate the roots of a tree, and not hate the tree.' That is what racial LOVE is about. Loving Africa is essential for African people.

The wars in Africa are for power and this fact is common knowledge among all politicians.
