I've actually done a 180 about the whole L4D2 situation. With the announcement of a new campaign for L4D and at least 2 new infected, 5 'movies' and lots of new mechanics in L4D2 is making it worthwhile.

The difference between Ps3 and Xbox360 development is major.

With the Xbox you use DirectX which is easy to port between PC and Xbox360.

PS3 development is FAR more difficult and has been documented in many places and it basically requires a complete rewrite of the code base. Also Sony charges the Developer per GB on their 'free' network (its not free, all DLC costs more on the sony network because the developers have to make up the cost).

It's pretty hard to mess up publishing, but whenever they "modify" a game, or toss in some drm for good measure (because everyone loves DRM, right? Install limits greatly enhanced my gaming experience, right?) they degrade the quality and/or playability by a long shot.

Although I must say that Dead Space was great. Major props there.

But the install limits are just plain stupid, it makes no sense to treat your paying customers like criminals. As far as the gameplay goes though, I felt it could have been so much more. Don't really care for the "cutesy" approach." But to each his own.

And I agree with your statement about the orange box. Although Valve ported the 360 version. EA did the PS3 version.
