@37thperson This was just an opinion, And Brian May and Slash are not completely different, they both use minor and major pentatonic scales. If it wasn't for the speed difference they could sound quite similar in certain parts of their music.

Hendrix for instance changed Clapton's life forever, even his choice of guitar from a Les paul to a Stratocaster. Jannis Joplin, want a pioneer American rock legend older than most british bands and who influenced a lot of them? How about MR. Chuck Berry? 60's and 70's? The Eagles, Boston, Kansas...

Heck dude,i'm still listening to Albert King and all the old bluesmen (I'm a guitarist so i love that stuff), and that's what originated the brittish fascination with the blues and rock in the first place. Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Watters, T-bone Walker, Also, do you know when the Santana band was formed? or Aerosmith? you do kow that santana performed in woodstock, right? that was in '69. But yes, we both agree that music now SUCKS big monkey balls and we long for the good old days of real musicians

Just consider Guns n' Roses or Kiss or Alice Cooper or Elvis (supposedly he is still alive) or Heart or Van Halen or Pat Benatar.  Again, don't get me wrong, I love so many British bands like Iron Maiden, ELO, and The Who.... you can keep the rolling stones IMHO.
