Just got it 2 days ago.I don't know why he complains about the screen resolution so much.Mine does perfectly well with gaming and when surfing the web the only thing you need to do is rotate the phone and it's all seen pretty damn well

@christianheart100 go on the menu and press the button on the left of the phone. it should come on the bottom of the screen saying "edit" and touch that. There should be a red and white little circle on top of the app and all you have to do is touch it to delete the app you want to

It's not just a 'my first smartphone' it is a phone for people that want basic functionality, full customization and smooth OS. Yes, it works smoothly because it has GPU - I use live wp and many many widgets and it's still smooth.

I only knew Android on high-end phones and tablets but Galaxy Mini is a low-end awesomeness. I didn't expect so much functionality for such a small price. Only downside is music quality on headphones (noticeable noise) not good - just acceptable.

@ZedinHabibovic This phone is great for first android phone. I have it and it's awesome. Screen resolution is pretty small, but it still fits in your hand pretty well.

@shanebgillespie hi yes you can use youtube in this i do not own one of these but my friend does and it works on his and i am also getting one of these as the screen on my lg optimus gt540 has lost half of the pixels in the screen. Hope this helped :)

I bought one of these as my first venture into smartphones having had a pretty bog standard mobile phone for years.

Yep, it's cheap and I'm sure it doesn't have all the whistles and bells that more "classy," models have, but I absolutely love it, in spite of a few teething problems and it works great for me.

Am loving "swype."

No doubt I'll move up to something more sophisticated in time, but for now..no real complaints and it feels great in the hand too!

Gio has an 0,8 GHz processor while Mini has 0,6 GHz, so gio is slightly faster.

Gio has a sharper screen (Mini 127 ppi, Gio 180 ppi)

And gio has a better resolution screen (480x320)

Mini = Better quality camera (mini can be updated to android 2.3 for VGA video), slightly bigger screen,

Y= Slightly faster processor (600MHz vs 823MHz) Lighter and smaller

Both are good IMO.

this guy is an apple nerd. first,and that is in all samsung devices (including my galaxy ace) if the level in angry birds has a lot of stuff at the BEGGINING lags a little bit, but if you wait about 2 seconds it will be just fine. in other games it never lags. Besides the guy chooses the exactly level with a lot of stuff in angry birds seasons.the resolution is not as bad as he says there exist better ones but this one is just fine. the camera is only a little bad in the dark, great in light ...
