  • wow, well done!

  • Soloing this back to back like that had to be so hard (remember what she is hitting with her pinky on one she has to use her thumb on the other... I think). My only request if this is redone is at least 480p (so you get stereo audio) with each side recording one of the pianos. Problem with a setup like that is it works best with headphones where having a single mic works with pc speakers as well.

  • great physical performance

  • I always liked watching the turn signals on cars line up and then slowly separate from one another, this is the music version of that.

  • @bigntall08

ha ha ha ha yes it is! i do that too

  • I totally agree with Fraojfljtlnbsd. This is a beautiful piece and an amazing concept. It provides so many rhythms, just playing 1 pattern over and over again - it doesn't sound at all the same all the time. Only in the beginning and the end. Hence, the name.

  • Nice work and a good start! Having performed Piano Phase solo on the pipe organ numerous times myself I can completely relate to the challenges the piece presents. One tip for lengthening the gradual phasing sections: concentrate on the thumb in your right hand, allowing it to strike just a fraction before the left hand, gradually increasing until hands are exactly interlaced, then increasing gradually again until they arrive together. Focus on the thumb and the other fingers will follow!

  • So incredibly difficult and so much concentration! Great job!

  • Have you seen the video where Peter Aidu is playing this on two pianos?

  • Seriously, it is very accurate.

  • what the fuck is this? this has no melody. Srry but this is NOT music!

  • @CBasie2856 it's Steve Reich's "Piano Phase"

A bit more respect would be appropriate.....

  • @CBasie2856 Hehehe. This has NO melody? And what´s the something what the pretty girl is playing by one of her hands? It´s absolutely magical melody!

  • Ok, if it has a melody, it is repeated way too many times. She's just doing the same thing over and over again. To me, that's not music. Music is rhythm, variation, melody, and harmony all at the same time. This piece accomplishes none of these.

    Srry....

  • @CBasie2856 Hmmm, actually, if you listen closely, it accomplished all of these.

  • @sorabji1

    Just how? Just how sorabji?

The point is that this piece has WAY too much repetition, it is rather boring and dull. There needs to be more variance in this piece, and you cannot just do the same thing over and over and over again.

  • @CBasie2856 That's the whole point of this piece. Steve Reich's Phase's were written as an expression of how much variety you can get out of one phrase. I think this is a brilliant performance and it held me in eager anticipation for the whole piece. You need to listen a little harder and, forgiving the cliché, think a little deeper.

  • @fraojfljtlnbsd

i don't see much variety in this music. Minimalism is not my style

  • @CBasie2856

it accomplishes all of them. the thing you dislike about it is it challenges you.

  • @pestoman

the thing that i dislike about it is that it is too repetitive. It is too boring.

  • @CBasie2856 it's not boring if you understand it!

  • bravo-

As you know it needs work but this IS SOOO AMAZING as you have captured it here... I cheer your obvious hard work and love music.

Check out the piano quartets of Thymme Jones on his CD 'While". He is also the drummer for the avant rock band Cheer-Accident.

    Best to you...

  • Wonderful!

  • That is really hard. It must be a really amazing feeling to phase. It really must be. Amazing job. Thanks for the upload. I can't do the main riff with one hand. Its hard. And the end made me SMILE like a clown. Great! Humans rock. Thanks for the upload. And well done. I'd like to hear that 2/4 bit.
