I was watching this allready but I got a question thinking about how to mod my tank... Say, are the Tamiya Weathering colors or pigments applicable with clear coatings above it to seal it? My tank is a RC model so it will move and be touched ... Is that possible? I mean on warhammer boards, those figures and vehicles are moved as well ....
@J4NN3K I would think it would work but you may find the clear coat could be lost by being dissolved down a bit in the clear spray. MG Weathering pigments are another option though. If you google theme it could work. Yes we probably touch the figures more than on an RC tank, so I am sure it would survive some outdoor driving.
Nihilist: You answered so many of my questions with this one. I am doing both desert and woodland versions of the Lancer, Claymore, Gladius and others from the Old Crow line. I don't have access to that lovely mud you used for panel lining. Can you suggest an alternative? I wanted the 'feathery' look that's seen on a lot of fine line German armor camo. I've got the putty but are the lines really as feathery as they are in your vid? Also, PLEASE tell me where you got 15mm office buildings?
@cy2087 The office buildings are N-scale railway buildings from Japan. Kato is the best brand but there are others like Tomix. Kato come pre-painted. Not sure about feathering, I think the blu-tac will make it look "feathery" rather than masking tape which is a dead straight line between paint. Have you seen my new Grunts rules? I have made stats for those tanks you have. Check my profile for the link to the grunts site.
epic work, good vid format :D Old crow makes some neat stuff, Its cool how their tank turrets also fit the stationary turret mounts and everything's all universal, good stuff. I wanna pick up some weathering powders, they have amuch different effect than drybrushing haha.
That was an awesome finale. Not bad for a tabletop finish, which is to say they look fantastic. Thank you for providing some excellent inspiration!
