This does work, it just looks different in the new view. While on the home documents page, right click on the doc and choose share. The top line says private. Click and u can change this to "anyone with the link" and a web link is provided. Copy/paste this link and email to to whomever. The trick is, the person who is looking at it without a gmail account MUST be using Internet Explorer or Chrome. Other web browsers I tried failed. I know IE version 6.0 and Chrome 16.0.912.63 work 1-4-12

This doesn't seem to work anymore. Wish I could confirm this with someone in Google.
