Actually,when i tune my guitar i don't play an E chord.I just play some riffs that i know really well,like Nothing Else Matters,Walk this Way,Smoke on the Water,Eruption.And if i want to tune to E flat,i just play Soothsayer.If the guitar isn't in E flat,you'll know right away because it will sound like shit.

Guys..wow. Ive been playing for a few years..and electric tuners are sometimes not around. So learn this way. Or you'll be stuck one day when your guitar might fall, and it goes out of tune, without a tuner. Thsi really pays off.

I think i should point something out. I have always found harmonics easier to tune with, yet they seem to disagree with the regular tuning method. I suspect this is due to my guitars not been set up properly....intonation?
