Mike, I don't know if Randy Schmidt is gay, shouldn't matter anyway he still left so much out of that book of his Little Girl Blue, thanks for your comment. I just hope that the world understands that the book was indeed done with NO RESPECT for the Carpenter name. Seems like the people who wouldn't talk to Randy never have a hard time speaking to me, Only difference is I respect the Carpenter name & always will. Eye's ain'ts a talking!!!!

All children should be told that their parents aren't omnipotent gods. Nuclear families are too small to have complete control over children. Throughout human history, kids were raised by extended families and villages. These days, if the kid winds up with psychologically damaged parents, they're stuck with them for life. By the time they're old enough to realize that their parents are flawed like everyone else, they've already developed their own psych 'issues'. And the vicious cycle continues

Karen Carpenter would have been 60 years-young this year. I would pay to see her in concert today.

Richard Carpenter noted that his parents, Agnes and Harold, were uncomfortable with openly displaying their affection for their children. It would later come out that this lack of affection, especially from Agnes toward Karen, would have a devastating effect on Karen. Poor Karen did not have a loving mother. So sad. So very sad.

Thanks for posting this; so far it's the best Carpenters biography I've seen. Unfortunately, it may be hard to find, as people will search under "A&E". It's interesting to see by the younger photos of their parents that Karen looked a lot like her mother and Richard looked like his father.

I purposely did not use 'A&E' in the title for fear of possible removal of the video. I have had an account removed on here because of silly little stuff like that, but so far this one has lasted me a bit over a year now so be extra cautious isn't a bad thing!
