  • Nothing wrong with my television set? Are you shitting me? There's plenty wrong with my television set. It's a piece of out-dated crap. One of the knobs was lost, and we have to turn the channel with a wrench. Enough tin foil is wrapped around the antennea to cover a turkey for basting on Thanksgiving. And the reception is so fuzzy I feel as though I'm watching a snowfall of white noise after the national anthem plays and the Indian image comes on, accompanied by that annoying monotone.

  • The video runs fine but the remixed audio is terrible. I have a VHS of this episode that sounds fine. This audio is unacceptable.

    Yep, I'm using very high quality headphones, and it's still hard to hear. Just a terrible remixing job, totally unnecessary.

As you see it was put up by MGM so it is intended to be like a full length preview and if you really like it then they want you to buy the DVD. An other movie was posted in eleven separate parts and the copyright holder killed all the even number parts. Once again to leave a taste and reason to buy the DVD.

    It may not be the main reason why they altered the audio on this one, but it's certainly the main reason they've made some of their best shows impossible to watch complete or to copy. Potential DVD sales. Pfffft! I will stick with my VHS and the episodes I could download online. The DVD's are overpriced and not especially good quality.

  • Unfortunately, the mind is "stored" for lack of a better word in the physical links in the billions and billions of nuerons in the brain. A transfer like the one depicted here was a SF concept before that was known and conciousness was thought to be electrical in nature. A transfer like this would require a reconfiguring of all the nuerons in the brain - a hefty task. But, the concept is a good dramatic idea.

  • I have seen this episode on DVD and you actually are supposed to understand what people are saying. There is seriously something wrong with the sound on this video. It's not "wide channel stereo" or some b.s. like that. It's like ONE channel of the stereo mix. It's also not an imitation of 60's mono or stereo. If anything, it's an imitation of an early 60's mono TV with the tone knob turned down. Bottom line: if whoever ripped this video ripped it from the DVD, the sound should be better.

  • (Listening with headphones) Sounds like someone had access to the original audio tracks and tried to "remaster" the sound to imitate stereo. Reminds me of the early 60s: As stereo was becoming more common in homes but some rock and pop albums were still being recorded monaurally, they would release albums that were "electronically reprocessed" for stereo. That usually meant the high frequencies in one channel and the bass frequencies in the other. It was pretty lame.

  • turn ur tv to mono cant you hear that it is mono to begin with?

    5.1 just makes it worse. im useing a headphone jack 2 a red nd white cable it works as a stereo to mono kinda thing, think about buying 1 u can hook ur ipod up 2 ur stereo or realy anything with a headset..

  • A Masterpiece of science fiction, simple efx by CGI standards.The story and acting is what works so well here. EFX will never replace a great story.The Outer Limits 60's and the later series respected the viewers intelligence. Sadly most recent Scifi shows are pretty weak when it comes to that dept. Some like to be spoon fed their entertainment, and others do not.

  • Whoever did this really screwed up the audio levels. The music didn't originally drown out the dialog. Must be some incompetent person not bothering to check the result of their effort. Bad job you nitwit.

  • WOW! S-T-E-R-E-O. I've never heard a stereo Outer Limits before. It's stereo like many records of the 60's...vocals on the left and all the music on the right! But, that's OK....I'm just happy to hear it in stereo. Thanks MGM.

  • i never feel the need to DL these shows, but 'Downloadhelper' is what i use with Firefox. for IE, u can use Realplayer to DL it. will be FLV, either method, easily converted though. i use Moyea flv converter.

  • Yes, but have you actually tried those methods, and can you confirm they actually work on this video? Realplayer only gets the commercial. I've been downloading youtube videos for at least three years, using numerous methods. NO previous methods work here. This may be encrypted or streamed somehow using RTMPE. I finally did get this video, but had to use screen capture software to do it - which isn't actually downloading it.
